Job Description

Old Mutual Insure is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Policy Administration System (PAS) team. In this role, you will be involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including solution design, ADF development, implementation, testing, data conversion, documentation, and continuous system enhancement. You’ll work in an Agile team leveraging SAFe methodologies, collaborating with talented professionals who are committed to delivering value to the business.

Technical skills:

• Advanced Programming and Object-Oriented Design
• Oracle ADF and Oracle Forms Development
• Database Management and Design (Oracle DB)
• APIs Design and Development
• Version Control and CI/CD
• Testing and Quality Assurance: unit, integration, and functional testing
• Software Architecture and Design
• Cloud Technologies: DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
• Secure coding and security best practices
• Performance Optimization
• Monitoring and Logging

What you will be doing:

• Working within a high-performing Agile and DevOps team
• Designing, developing, and maintaining Oracle ADF components
• Writing and maintaining unit and functional tests
• Solving complex problems in distributed systems
• Collaborating with business analysts and stakeholders
• Supporting performance tuning, monitoring, and system optimization
• Contributing to architecture discussions and continuous improvement initiatives
   

Education:

• Degree in Computer Science or related qualification

Certification:

• AWS or Cloud Related,
• Agile or Related,
• Java/Oracle/Salesforce or Related

Technical Experience

• 8+ yrs progressive software development experience
• Proven experience in Oracle ADF development and Oracle Forms
• Strong Oracle database and core Oracle development expertise
• Experience with data analytics and system monitoring
