We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a high-performing nearshore team building scalable, cloud-native backend systems. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who is comfortable owning backend services end-to-end, working in modern serverless environments, and collaborating closely with product and infrastructure teams.
You’ll be working on data-heavy, distributed systems and will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining reliable services in AWS.
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js
- Build and maintain scalable, serverless applications on AWS
- Work with relational and analytical databases including PostgreSQL and Snowflake
- Implement and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform
- Develop event-driven systems using AWS services such as Lambda, SNS, SQS, RDS, and DynamoDB
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, QA, and DevOps
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design discussions
- Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments using GitHub Actions
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong experience with Node.js in backend-focused roles
- Solid experience with AWS, including serverless services (Lambda, SNS, SQS, RDS, DynamoDB)
- Experience working with PostgreSQL and/or Snowflake
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and backend architecture
- Ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
The work hours will be approximately 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, depending on workload, with the occasional late night when a tight deadline calls for it. We work for security-conscious clients, thus background checks will be required.
