Working Hours:
Linus Health is a distributed company with a headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts and many remote employees across numerous time zones. Linus Health fully supports those who wish to work remotely, however we are asking for this person to be based in EST. At the moment, we are only considering candidates who are currently based in Canada or who are based within the CST or EST time zones within the US.
What You’ll Do:
- Establish best practices based on design patterns
- Provide technical leadership by mentoring/coaching other engineers
- Lead software development projects, and perform design and code reviews
- Solve for and consider security, scalability, availability, and performance
- Establish testing policies and procedures (unit, integration, and e2e)
- Task estimation and planning as well as managing your own tasks and reporting on progress
- Collaborating closely with all other members of the team to take shared responsibility for the overall efforts that the team has committed to
- Collaborate across teams and departments to design and build world-class mobile applications using React Native
- Develop reusable user flows and components and assist in their integration with multiple product lines
About You:
Required:
- 7+ years experience with at least 3 developing mobile applications
- Extensive experience in react-native development
- Skilled in JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience developing in React Native on a shipped product
- Experience integrating with Native Modules and custom iOS/Android SDKs
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis
- Knowledge of software and integration design patterns
- Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Mocha, Appium)
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and listening), with ability to build positive working relationships across multiple groups within the organization
- Ability to produce high quality technical documentation and diagrams
- Proficient with Git, experience with GitHub
Nice to Have:
- Native iOS/Android app development experience (Java, Kotlin, Swift)
- Experience developing reusable components, libraries and/or SDK's
- Experience in Node.jd and experience in full stack development
- Experience in healthcare domain
- Experience with inversion of control or dependency injection patterns/frameworks (eg Inversify, Spring Framework)
- Experience working in the healthcare industry or a regulated industry(HIPPA, GDPR, EU MDR, FDA, etc)

- The base salary budgeted for this position is in the 150,000-180,000(CAD) range per year. The role will also include an annual discretionary target bonus based on performance as well as company equity. The final offer determined for a candidate who is hired into this position will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant skills, professional experience, and labor market conditions, etc.
