Senior Software Engineer (MATLAB tool development)

Amentum is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (MATLAB tool development) who has 5-10 years of experience to lend to assist a team of functional engineers in consolidating MATLAB tools and develop data development tools, methodology and organization for managing large sets of data.  Primary work location will be in Dahlgren, VA with occasional telecommute or travel opportunities.

Senior Software Engineer (MATLAB tool development) Responsibilities Include:

• Using tools and data solutions to code and store large data sets, search and store large sets of data in a seamless way and hos to parse data properly for future growth and development needs. 

• Conducting internal testing on Agile process solutions to meet with customer on team to ensure more efficient ways to support engineering work. 

• Enabling design, code and maintenance of software support tools and models.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (in one of these in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with a software background and four (4) + years of experience.

• Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.

• Understanding of software requirements, design, code, benchmark testing, debugging, software development lifecycle, architecture, and documentation. Plans, performs, and lead software design, coding, and testing.

• Experience in an Agile software development environment and methodologies

• Program/project level experience of software design and:

• Experience performing detailed and complex software design and development meeting sub millisecond timing requirements.

• MATLAB (Required familiarity); Scripting ability and knowledge of software best practices, some familiarity with C++ but not necessarily current is needed.

• Ability to Commute: to Dahlgren NSF (1 hour south of Washington D.C.)
