For our Lugano Branch (Switzerland), we are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with solid expertise in building and maintaining scalable systems using Java and Spring Boot.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provides technical leardership throughout all stages of the software life cycle, with a strong focus on the build phase and testing. This includes meticulous attention to configuration, integration, and delivery of products to ensure robust and efficient software performance.
- Analysis of business requirements and design of technical solutions and documentation
- Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs and microservices using Spring Boot
- Develop asynchronous processing workflows to improve application performance
- Setup and run the technical testing phases (test automation, unit tests, integration tests,…)
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's/Master's degree preferably in computer science or engineering
- At least 5 years of experience developing with Java as the primary language, with a strong focus on Microservices architecture
- Strong experience in software implementation with Spring Boot, Spring core, JMS, JPA, REST WS, SOAP, JBOSS EA
- Advanced knowledge of messaging frameworks such as RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, Apache ActiveMQ, IBM MQ
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift
- Good command of spoken and written Italian and English is a must
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills reinforced by structured problem solving approach
- Experience with Agile / Scrum methodology is a plus
Location Requirement
- We do not offer a fully remote work policy
- Candidates should be prepared to relocate to Canton Ticino (Switzerland) or Italian Border Towns (such as Como, Varese etc.)
- Work-from-home days may be possible according to the Client's policy
