Senior Software Engineer (Java)

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our team and build scalable, high-impact solutions for the financial sector. You will work with JVM-based technologies and modern containerized environments, contributing to reliable, large-scale systems.

As part of a distributed team of senior engineers, you will collaborate in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality products and drive continuous improvement. You will contribute to a production-grade collateral exchange platform that is actively evolving with new business use cases. In addition to developing new features, you will play a key role in refactoring and redesigning parts of the platform to improve scalability, maintainability, and long-term performance.

Location - EU countries, remotely.

Responsibilities:

• Development of key components of the financial exchange platform.
  
• Contribute with your expertise by sharing ideas on product improvements.
• Design, develop, implement, and maintain Java/Kotlin application phases, code, and software.
• Ensure the product design is suitable to meet the security, resilience, and confidentiality needs of users.
  
• Conduct software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging.
• Transform requirements into stipulations and identify production and non-production application issues.
• Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle.
  
• Coach and mentor other members of the development team, growing the collective knowledge and expertise of the group.
  
• Participate in on-call support rotations, troubleshooting and resolving production issues to ensure system stability and high availability.

Must have

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (databases, concurrency, security, networking)
• Proven software engineering experience with Java/Kotlin or other JVM-based languages
• Demonstrated contribution to a development team that delivered a successful, large-scale product
• Experience with relational database management systems, message queues, and Public Key Infrastructure
• Experience working with REST APIs
• Experience deploying and operating services in containerized environments, including Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms

Nice to have

• Experience with Canton/Daml or other distributed transaction or ledger technologies
