WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will work closely with Finance and Procurement business partners, product managers, architects, engineering teams, and program stakeholders across Nike. Together, you will align technology outcomes to prioritized business capabilities and deliver solutions that support global direct procurement and payables processes.
You will collaborate with engineers across product squads and platform teams to design and deliver integrations, resolve technical dependencies, and improve service reliability, security, performance, and operational support.
You will also contribute to team health and engineering excellence through design discussions, code and configuration reviews, pairing, documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Software Engineer who combines strong engineering fundamentals with 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in enterprise procurement and finance technology. You will primarily build and enhance Coupa Direct solutions and the integrations that connect Coupa to SAP S/4HANA Accounts Payable and adjacent services.
The ideal candidate is curious, collaborative, and comfortable working across Coupa configuration, custom development, integration design, testing, deployment, and production support. A learning mindset, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and clear written and verbal communication are essential. We value a healthy team culture where diverse perspectives are welcomed and every voice can be heard.
Required qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in delivering enterprise software solutions across design, build, test, deployment, and production support.
• Hands-on experience with Coupa, with strong preference for Coupa Direct—application configuration, workflow design, data structures, business rules, and integration touchpoints.
• Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Accounts Payable processes and how procurement and supplier invoice transactions flow into financial posting, clearing, and payment processes.
• Strong understanding of data mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, error handling, and monitoring across integrated systems.
• Experience diagnosing production issues through logs, traces, monitoring, and structured root-cause analysis.
• Ability to assess complex technical information, make sound trade-off decisions, and communicate clearly with both technical and business audiences.
• Strong collaboration skills and experience working in an Agile delivery environment.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
As a Software Engineer III on the Direct Payables Capability Team, you will design, configure, build, test, deploy, and support technology solutions centered on Coupa Direct and its integration with SAP S/4HANA Accounts Payable. You will translate business requirements into reliable, secure, maintainable, and scalable solutions that improve the end-to-end direct payables experience—from requisition and purchase order through receipt, supplier invoice, approval, and payment readiness in SAP.
Key responsibilities include:
Configure, extend, and support Coupa Direct capabilities, including direct procurement workflows, purchase orders, receiving, supplier invoicing, approvals, catalogs, and related payables processes.
• Deep understanding of integrations between Coupa and SAP S/4HANA Accounts Payable using APIs, integration services, events, and file-based patterns as appropriate—for example, master data synchronization, invoice and accrual payloads, status feedback, and error handling across systems.
• Partner with product and business teams to refine requirements, evaluate solution options, and translate process needs into technical designs.
• Develop high-quality, supportable solutions and participate in code, configuration, and design reviews.
• Create automated tests and support end-to-end, integration, regression, and production validation activities.
• Troubleshoot complex application, data, and integration issues across Coupa, SAP S/4HANA, and connected services; drive root-cause analysis and sustainable remediation.
• Contribute to observability, operational readiness, incident response, performance, security, and reliability improvements.
• Support Coupa and SAP platform upgrades and release activities while assessing downstream integration and business-process impacts.
• Maintain clear technical documentation, including solution designs, interface mappings, support procedures, and operational runbooks.
• Participate in Agile planning and delivery, proactively communicating dependencies, risks, trade-offs, and progress.
