Job Opportunity: Senior Software Engineer - Remote
Our team is seeking a talented (Senior) Software Engineer to work as part of a remote team with our customer at the US Department of Veterans Affairs. Our engineers work as members of cross-functional product teams that partner with our customers to deliver great software for US veterans. We focus on human-centered design and excellent customer experience, and our technical experts help make that happen. Our teams deliver software that has a real, positive impact on millions of users across the US.
What You'll Get to Do as a Senior Software Engineer:
- Support a full system development agile lifecycle using CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
- Design, code, test, and own products and solutions across a variety of VA mission areas.
- Deliver products that directly benefit US Veterans as part of a leading-edge delivery organization within the federal government.
- Apply standards and best practices for human-centered design, application development, automated testing and delivery, and modern product delivery.
- Communicate with users, product owners, and teammates to discuss problems and solutions.
- Learn and adopt new technologies quickly and independently and assist teammates with implementation and knowledge sharing.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- BS degree with 8 years of experience working with Agile methodologies such as Kanban, Scrum, or SAFe as part of multi-team organization
- Experience delivering in CI/CD and DevSecOps environments for automated build, test, and release
- Experience with:
- Java, Spring Framework
- JavaScript, React/Redux
- Docker, Kubernetes, containerized delivery environments
- PostgreSQL, MySQL
- AWS, Azure
- Automated Testing with Selenium, Cypress
- REST APIs, Message- or event-driven systems
- Experience with GitHub-based delivery with GitHub Actions, Issues, etc.
- Understanding of WCAG and Section 508 Accessibility requirements
- Experience working in all stages of product delivery to collaboratively design and create solutions as part of a human-centered product team
- Ability to create well-documented, easy to understand code as a good-citizen member of a large engineering team
