Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) (Remote, Canada)

This is a remote & permanent position for those based in Canada. 
NearForm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join our team of consultants. In this role, you will work directly with clients on diverse and impactful projects, leveraging your deep understanding of front-end and back-end technologies. If you have a passion for building scalable applications and a track record of delivering complex solutions in a client-facing environment, we want to hear from you.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Full-Stack Development: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
• Front-End Expertise: Proficient in React, Svelte, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Back-End Proficiency: Skilled in Node.js, Typescript and server-side frameworks like Express. Familiar with at least one persistence layer (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
• API Design & Integration: Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and GraphQL, with hands-on experience in designing and integrating APIs into client applications.
• Testing: Expertise in both front-end and back-end testing frameworks, including Jest, Enzyme, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright, and others.
• Client-Facing Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of building rapport, understanding client needs, and effectively translating technical concepts.
• Mentorship & Leadership: Willingness to mentor junior developers, share knowledge, and foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

What You'll Do:

• Client Collaboration: Partner closely with clients to understand their needs, define project scope, and deliver comprehensive full-stack solutions.
• Full-Stack Development: Build robust and scalable applications using front-end (React), back-end (Node.js/Express), and database (MongoDB, PostgreSQL) technologies.
• CMS Integration: Utilize your CMS experience to seamlessly integrate content into client applications, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
• API Design & Development: Design and implement well-structured, secure, and high-performance APIs using REST or GraphQL.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and conduct code reviews for junior team members.
• Continuous Learning: Stay current with the latest web development technologies and trends, including exploring emerging technologies.

Bonus Points For:

• GraphQL and Groq: Experience with GraphQL and Groq for advanced data querying and manipulation.
• TypeScript Mastery: In-depth knowledge and extensive use of TypeScript in both front-end and back-end development.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• DevOps and CI/CD: Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Mobile Development: Experience with mobile development frameworks such as React Native or Flutter.
