Job Description

To deliver reusable, readable, and maintainable production-ready code, it’s essential to not only focus on writing efficient code but also to understand the bigger picture of project management and execution. This includes:

  • Project Management: Planning, managing, and delivering business projects, either independently or with a development team, is key. This extends to overseeing legacy codebase migrations as well.

  • Communication: Explaining technical concepts, principles, and issues effectively to both team members and stakeholders ensures alignment and smooth project progress.

  • Problem Solving: Addressing and resolving complex issues is a critical part of development, which involves implementing bug fixes and performing system-level troubleshooting to guarantee timely solutions.

Alongside managing these aspects, it's crucial to incorporate best practices in software testing and development:

  • Testing Practices: Implement unit and integration tests, adhering to methodologies like Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).

  • Performance Optimization: Configure and maintain build pipelines, with a focus on performance optimization (such as using Webpack), and develop CI pipelines (using Jenkins) for environment-based bundling, testing, and deployment.

  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze application behavior actively, identifying bottlenecks and areas for refinement to enhance overall performance.

Lastly, expertise in advanced CSS pre-compilers such as SASS, Less, and PostCSS helps streamline and optimize front-end development.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in frontend development with a focus on producing high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Proven record in software and system design, particularly in migrating legacy codebases.
  • Have a solid understanding of JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Have working experience with RxJS or be a fast learner.
  • Great knowledge testing approaches, including unit, integration (TDD & BDD).
  • Experience building CI pipelines for bundling, testing, and deployment.
  • Advanced understanding of browser rendering pipelines and CSS pre-compilers.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
