Senior Software Engineer (Firmware)

What You'll Do:
- Work with our mechanical and electrical teams to define system-level requirements that our firmware will implement.
- Write and maintain C++ firmware to control sensors and actuators for our vehicle sub-systems.
- Develop clear, robust APIs to enable communication between services.
- Develop thorough tests, continuous integration, and automated deployments for our vehicle software.
- Take the initiative on other roles and tasks the company needs to succeed. Stellar Pizza is a fast-growing startup.
- Work on-site primarily with flexible work at home days.
What You'll Need:
- 3+ years of meaningful solo contributor experience as a software engineer.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience writing software for ARM based systems including using interfaces such as SPI, I2C, Serial, CAN, etc.
- Experience with hardware level software development including use of timers, interrupts, and hardware peripherals such as SPI controllers and ADCs, bootloaders and debug tools.
- Experience with web technologies including HTTP, REST APIs, relational databases, front-end applications, and back-end applications.
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Thrive in a fast-paced startup environment that is constantly changing.
