How This Role Impacts Live Oak and its People 

We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Digital Marketing to serve as a key technology partner to Live Oak's Digital Marketing organization. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, digital marketing, analytics, and customer experience. The ideal candidate will help design, implement, and optimize the technology, data, analytics, and measurement capabilities that power Live Oak's digital marketing ecosystem.


This individual will partner closely with marketers, analysts, product teams, and engineers to enhance digital acquisition, customer engagement, marketing performance measurement, and website experiences. Success in this role requires a strong technical foundation combined with an understanding of digital marketing technologies, customer journey analytics, attribution, and data-driven optimization.


Location: Candidate is required to be located or relocate to Wilmington, North Carolina. Work sponsorship is not supported now or in the future.

   

What You’ll Do at Live Oak 

Marketing Technology, Data & Analytics

  • Serve as the technology partner for the Digital Marketing team, translating marketing objectives into scalable technical solutions. 
  • Design, develop, and support digital marketing technology platforms, integrations, and data flows that enable customer acquisition, campaign execution, and performance measurement. 
  • Partner with marketing, analytics, and business stakeholders to enhance multi-touch attribution, conversion tracking, customer journey analytics, and marketing effectiveness reporting. 
  • Partner and develop web analytics implementations, tagging strategies, event tracking frameworks, and digital data collection standards across customer-facing channels. 
  • Ensure marketing and customer behavioral data is accurately captured, governed, and accessible for reporting, segmentation, personalization, and optimization. 
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate marketing technologies including analytics platforms, CRM systems, customer data platforms (CDPs), experimentation tools, advertising technologies, and marketing automation platforms. 
  • Drive improvements in data quality, observability, automation, and reporting across the digital marketing ecosystem. 

Digital Experience & Customer Acquisition 

  • Partner with Digital Marketing to optimize customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and conversion strategies across digital channels. 
  • Support digital marketing initiatives including paid media, SEO, SEM, email marketing, content marketing, social media, and website experiences through scalable technology solutions. 
  • Develop technology-enabled solutions that support personalization, audience segmentation, campaign targeting, and customer journey orchestration. 
  • Lead website optimization efforts focused on user experience, accessibility, search performance, engagement, and conversion improvement. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer acquisition and engagement through experimentation, A/B testing, and behavioral analytics. 
  • Translate business requirements into technical capabilities that support growth and marketing objectives. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, manage dependencies, and align technology investments with business goals. 

Measurement, Reporting & Optimization 

  • Partner with the Data team on dashboards, reporting frameworks, and data products that provide visibility into key performance indicators and business outcomes. 
  • Monitor customer behavior, conversion funnels, and digital performance to identify trends, opportunities, and optimization recommendations. 
  • Continuously improve data-driven decision-making through analytics, insights, and scalable reporting solutions. 
  • Leverage customer insights and performance data to drive ongoing improvements in digital experiences and marketing effectiveness.

 

Leadership, Partnership & Governance 

  • Partner with compliance, legal, privacy, and risk teams to ensure digital marketing technologies and processes meet regulatory and organizational requirements. 
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies, and technology partners when applicable. 
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, digital analytics capabilities, customer experience trends, AI-powered tools, and advancements in marketing technology. 
  • Mentor teaam members and contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous learning. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business and marketing stakeholders on digital technology strategy, measurement capabilities, and platform investments.
  • Advocate for customer-centric thinking while ensuring technical solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Help shape the future of Live Oak's digital marketing technology ecosystem and digital customer experiences.

Required Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, Marketing Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 
  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering, marketing technology, digital analytics, data engineering, or closely related disciplines.
  • Expert programming abilities with best practices (Node.js, React, Bootstrap, Python)
  • Expert in Cloud tools (SF.COM, AWS S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, SQS, SNS)
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting digital marketing technology solutions and integrations.
  • Strong understanding of web analytics, digital tagging, event tracking, conversion measurement, and customer journey analytics.
  • Experience with analytics and reporting platforms such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Tableau, Power BI, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with CRM, customer data, and marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Adobe Experience Cloud, or comparable solutions.
  • Experience working closely with marketing, product, analytics, and business teams to deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, customer data flows, and marketing measurement frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing outcomes across multiple teams.

Preferred Experience 

  • Experience within financial services, banking, fintech, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience implementing multi-touch attribution, marketing mix measurement, or customer journey analytics frameworks.
  • Experience supporting SEO, SEM, paid media tracking, lead generation, and conversion optimization initiatives.
  • Experience with experimentation platforms, A/B testing frameworks, and personalization technologies.
  • Experience leading website modernization, digital transformation, or customer experience optimization initiatives.
  • Understanding of privacy regulations, consent management, and responsible customer data practices.

The base pay range for this position is $128,500.00 - $179,900.00 per year. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy. A candidate’s salary is determined by several factors including travel, relevant work experience or skills and expertise.
