We're searching for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Design Systems & Accessibility team at Roblox! You will play a key role in shaping the future of our team as a technical lead, and improving user experience by building and maintaining the foundational components of our design system, Foundation. 

Our team’s mission is to accelerate the development of features by our feature teams in the Roblox App and Roblox Studio, while ensuring accessible and consistent design and making developing UI a ✨joyous ✨ experience. You have a passion for crafting beautiful, accessible, and highly usable interfaces that delight our users. This role will involve cross-functional collaboration and communication with other teams and our own designers and engineers.

You Will 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain our design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across our products.
  • Partner closely with designers to translate design concepts into functional, high-quality Luau code.
  • Develop and maintain accessible UI components and patterns, ensuring compliance with relevant WCAG guidelines.
  • Lead the development of new features and enhancements to our design systems and accessibility tools.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest software development trends and technologies, particularly those relevant to frontend development and component-based UI frameworks.

You Have

  • 4+ years of experience in software development.
  • Strong understanding of design principles and best practices.
  • Experience with accessible design and development, a plus if that includes WCAG guidelines.
  • Experience with frontend technologies and component-based UI frameworks (e.g., React).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills - this role requires a lot of cross-org collaboration and support of other internal customers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$218,540$283,780 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
