GENERAL FUNCTION

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Contentful CMS and modern front-end technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable content architectures, developing content-driven web applications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital experiences. Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and modern JavaScript frameworks is essential.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain Contentful content models, content types, taxonomies, and editorial workflows.
  • Define and implement scalable Content Architecture and governance standards within Contentful.
  • Integrate Contentful APIs with front-end applications and enterprise systems.
  • Develop responsive and performant user interfaces using React, Next.js, Angular, and TypeScript.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, content authors, and business stakeholders to deliver content-driven experiences.
  • Build reusable front-end components and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and release management.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical mentoring.
  • Support cloud-native application deployment and monitoring within AWS environments.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance, scalability, and security.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Contentful CMS

  • 5+ years of experience working with Contentful or similar Headless CMS platforms.
  • Strong experience in:
    • Content Model Design
    • Content Types creation and management
    • Content Relationships and References
    • Content Delivery & Management APIs
    • Content Migration and Environment Management
    • Content Governance and Publishing Workflows

Front-End Development

  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • React.js
    • Next.js
    • Angular
    • TypeScript
    • JavaScript (ES6+)
    • HTML5, CSS3, SCSS

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs and GraphQL.
  • Familiarity with Git version control.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers is preferred.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent amount of experience.
  • 6-7 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years of hands-on Contentful CMS experience.
  • Team-oriented, eager to learn, and able to work in a support + enhancement environment

Nice to have:

  • Contentful Certifications.
  • Experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) integrations.
  • Experience in large-scale website modernization or CMS migration projects.
  • Experience with server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG) using Next.js.
  • Experience writing and executing Contentful content model migrations using the Contentful Migration CLI (or equivalent tools) to manage content model changes across environments in a version-controlled, automated, and repeatable manner.
  • Strong understanding of Contentful environment promotion strategies and deployment best practices for content model updates
