Job Description

We are looking for skilled Backend Engineers with a strong problem-solving mindset, excellent programming skills (especially with PHP), and a solid grasp of system design principles. As a Backend Engineer, you’ll work closely with our engineering teams to tackle technical challenges and drive innovative enhancements to our products.

In this role, you will:

• Design and implement high-quality software architecture with a focus on scalable solutions for high-load and high-concurrency environments.
• Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following industry best practices, ensuring code quality, performance, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, designers, and product managers, to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
• Propose, evaluate, and integrate new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to improve development efficiency and product quality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues, optimizing systems for high load and concurrency.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers, and continuously promote coding standards and best practices.
• Contribute to team efficiency through the development of documentation and processes that foster continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

• Backend Development & Expertise: Proven experience as a Backend Developer with 3-5 years in professional web application development, specializing in building systems designed to handle high-load and high-concurrency traffic. With strong proficiency in PHP (at least 2-3 years) and hands-on experience in frameworks like Symfony as a plus.
• Database Management: Solid experience with both relational (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases, with expertise in writing optimized SQL queries.
• API Development: Experience in designing and building RESTful APIs; familiarity with GraphQL is a plus.
• Concurrency and Load Handling: Expertise in creating systems optimized for concurrency, including caching, load balancing, and horizontal scaling techniques.
• Testing and Code Quality: Practical knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), with experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Version Control: Proficiency in Git and modern version control systems.

DevOps and Infrastructure:

• CI/CD Pipelines: Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline setups and automation using tools like Jenkins or Atlassian Bamboo.
• Containerization: Experience with Docker/Podman and maintaining reproducible development environments.
• Security: Knowledge of backend security best practices, including secure authentication, authorization, and data protection.

Soft Skills:

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for debugging and resolving complex technical issues.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, with experience working effectively in team-oriented and agile environments.
• Agile Development: Familiarity with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, iterative work environment.

Nice to Have

• Additional Database Technologies: Knowledge of Elasticsearch and OpenAPI (preferably version 3.*).
• Message Queues and Event-Driven Architecture: Experience with Message Queues, Apache Kafka, and event sourcing techniques.
• Cloud and Container Orchestration: Familiarity with Kubernetes (K8s) and cloud environments.
• High-Availability Systems: Practical experience with designing high-availability and high-performance systems.
• Payment Systems: Background in payment system integrations or payment gateway development.
