The Role

Your role
Bring your specialist knowledge and experience to a company managing 50% of the world’s MIPS and play a critical role in our modernization mission. You’ll be in good company among our global community of experts leading the future of mainframe modernization. Experts who share knowledge openly and collaborate freely.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy Cognos reports, dashboards, and scorecards.

• Gather and analyse business requirements and convert them into technical specifications.

• Create and maintain data models (Framework Manager / DMR / cubes) to support reporting needs.

• Develop and optimise complex reports with SQL queries and data transformations.

• Perform unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning of reports and

dashboards.

• Collaborate with business users, analysts, and data teams for report validation and UAT.

• Maintain and support Cognos environments, including troubleshooting production issues.

• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and adherence to data warehousing best practices.

• Document technical designs, processes, and report specifications.

Who You Are

Required skills and experience
 

• Strong experience with IBM Cognos Analytics / Cognos BI Suite

(Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, Framework Manager)

• Proficiency in SQL and database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.)

• Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modelling

• Experience in building dashboards, KPIs, and scorecards

• Knowledge of performance tuning and report optimisation techniques

• Typically 6-8+ years of experience in Cognos / BI development

• Familiarity with BI tools and reporting frameworks

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Good communication and stakeholder collaboration skills

Other Skills/Experience :

• Experience with Cognos Framework Manager modelling and OLAP cubes

• Exposure to ETL tools (Informatica, DataStage, SSIS)

• Knowledge of scripting (Python/JavaScript) or APIs
