The Role

Candidates must be clearable for a Public Trust Position – must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident or is authorized to work in US, who has lived in the US for the more than 3 years.

The Senior Software Developer will build, and support software products used by the Department of Transportation and the public at large to help ensure the safety of drivers and passengers on public roadways.

  • Receive tasks and requirements details from program manager. Analyze the scope of work and provide estimated development timelines.
  • Follow agile sprint-based development schedule. Unit test modules prior to handing them off to the Test Team. Assist the Test Team with load/performance/throughput testing where required.
  • Peer-review the work of colleagues and provide feedback for improvement. Accept constructive feedback from colleagues and grow your skillset on the job.
  • Take notes during meetings, ask questions to obtain clarifications where needed. Document design decisions and technical details.
  • Maintain source code version control in Azure DevOps and GitHub.
  • Work independently if needed. Design, implement, document, and maintain robust software solutions that will be in service over multiple years.
  • Take on additional responsibilities over time and advance your career.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (CS) or related field.
  • 8-12 years of work experience in software development or related field.
  • 7+ years of writing objectoriented code in C#.
  • 5+ years of building ASP.NET Core web applications or APIs.
  • 7+ years of experience with at least one source code version control tool like Azure DevOps.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with web UI frameworks like MVC, Angular and Bootstrap.
  • 5+ years of creating rich web application user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/ TypeScript.
  • 7+ years of designing objects in relational databases (tables, views, stored procedures, indexes).
  • 7+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or related DB technologies.
  • Experience with development in Azure Cloud using Azure Data Lake Services, Data Factory, Synapse analytics, SQL Managed Instance etc.
  • Experience with at least one Object Relational Mapping (ORM) tool like Entity Framework.
  • Experience with hosting web applications in Internet Information Services (IIS).

Desired Skills

  • Hands-on experience with image processing libraries and techniques for analysis, feature detection, classification, as well as OCR.
  • Hands-on experience with text processing libraries and techniques for semantic analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools like UiPath or Microsoft Power Automate.
  • Hands-on experience with JSON, XML and XSLT.

Pay Range: $125,000 - $145,000

The posted pay range reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
