Department OverviewThe Response, Reporting & Evidence Software group (RRE) delivers solutions to the public safety sector. The group is committed to providing technology and tools which allow customers to focus on their mission, and enable them to respond faster with smarter and safer decisions. Our group deploys and supports products such as Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management Systems (RMS), Jail Management Systems and Mobile Data Computing, among other offerings.
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with a strong background in data visualization and API integration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing data pipelines and maintaining dashboards and reports that consolidate data from various sources through APIs. They will also create backend services to consume and export data, ensuring seamless data flow and integration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop backend services to consume data from external sources via APIs and prepare it for reporting.

• Create API endpoints for exporting data to other systems or services.

• Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing robust data validation and testing.

• Optimize data retrieval and processing for performance and scalability.

• Design Data Models that are used for visualizing emergency services data.

• Design and implement interactive dashboards and reports using data visualization tools like PowerBI or Tableau.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.

• Stay updated with the latest trends in data visualization and API technologies.

Basic Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar.

• Effective communication in English (joining an international team).

• 8+ years of experience with software development.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and SQL.

• Strong experience in API development and integration.

• Solid understanding of backend service architecture.

• Strong knowledge with programming languages such as C#, Java, Python or JavaScript.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

• Focused on Quality and acquaintance with dealing with software vulnerabilities (prevention, identification and remediation).

• Experience with Agile Software Development practices (Scrum and Kanban preferred).

• Self-motivated, with the ability to learn quickly and independently, and work within an Agile team

• Sense of ownership

Additional Qualifications

• Experience with relational and non-relational databases.

• Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
