You will be part of a distributed team developing new technologies to solve real business problems. Our client is a fast-moving startup building a cutting-edge AI-driven platform that transforms how businesses interact with data and automate workflows. Their technology enables seamless integration, real-time automation, and AI-powered decision-making. You’ll own hands-on implementation and integration, working closely with the Head of Field Engineering, and interfacing with both the CTO (technical standards/product readiness) and COO (delivery execution/scale).
We are looking for someone with good communication skills, ideally with experience making decisions, being proactive, used to building software from scratch, and with good attention to detail.
What you will do:
- Implement & Integrate: Stand up production environments; configure identity (SAML/OIDC/SCIM), networking (VPC, peering, VPN, private link), data pipelines, and eventing (Kafka/Kinesis/Pub/Sub).
-Solution Buildouts: Design and deliver workflows, connectors, and APIs (REST/GraphQL), including data mapping, transformations, and error handling.
- IaC & Release: Ship repeatable deployments via Terraform/Helm; contribute to golden-path modules, runbooks, and checklists; manage cutovers and rollbacks.
- Observability & Reliability: Instrument services, define SLOs, set up alerting/dashboards, and drive hypercare; participate in incident response and postmortems.
- Security & Compliance: Execute enterprise security reviews (data residency, encryption, RBAC/least privilege), and produce customer-ready artifacts.
- Customer Leadership: Run technical workshops, UAT, performance/load testing, and go-live. Triage issues with crisp root-cause and action plans.
- Presales Assist (Selective): Support scoped demos/POCs and implementation estimates when needed.
- Field Feedback → Product: Channel deployment learnings into product/roadmap and documentation improvements.
- Measure What Matters: Help improve time-to-value, on-time go-lives, SLO/SLA adherence, and customer CSAT.
What you will bring:
- 5–10 years in field engineering/solutions engineering/implementation for B2B platforms (data/AI/automation preferred).
- Depth in at least two clouds (AWS/GCP/Azure) plus Kubernetes, Terraform, and containerized app deployment.
- Strong integration chops: Experience connecting client data via Trino/Starburst, and building custom connectors when needed.
- Identity & Networking: Hands-on with SAML/OIDC/SCIM; VPC design, peering, VPN, private connectivity, and firewall policies.
- Observability: Practical experience with metrics/logs/traces (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and SLO-driven operations.
- Scripting/Dev: Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js for glue code, tooling, and accelerators.
- Data & DBs: Comfortable with PostgreSQL and event-driven patterns for reliable data flows.
- Customer-facing communication, clear documentation, and steady hands during cutovers/escalations.
Nice to have:
- Fundamentals in LLMs, prompting, and exposure to RAG pipelines; MLOps is less critical.
