Senior Social Media Manager

Job Description

So, who are we?

IG Group is a FTSE 100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 1.4m customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions – built on scale, trust, and proof. We didn't pivot to innovation; it's how we've always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that's rare in established businesses.

The bar is high – bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we'll give you the platform to define what comes next.

Join us at IG – the future gets built here.

Your Team:

This role sits within the Content & Social team, reporting into the Head of Content & Social Media. The team is responsible for how IG shows up across owned channels — from editorial content to social storytelling — and works closely with Creative, Brand Marketing, PR, Product and Compliance. You will manage 2 direct reports and play a central role in shaping the team's ways of working as the function scales.

Your role in the Team’s Success:

IG Consumer's social media presence is established and growing across UK and this role exists to take it further. As Senior Social Media Manager, you will own delivery of IG's social strategy across key channels and markets, sharpen underperforming platforms, and bring real creative ambition to how we show up in culture and in markets across the region. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who can think strategically, defend investment decisions to senior stakeholders, creatively concept, and execute brilliantly.

What you’ll do:

Strategy & channel ownership

  • Own and lead delivery of IG's social media strategy, identifying where performance is falling short across markets and driving the changes needed to improve reach, engagement, and conversion.
  • Build and execute channel plans around real-time cultural and financial moments, ensuring IG is present, relevant, and credible where our audiences are active.
  • Define and maintain social messaging frameworks, platform guidelines, and tone of voice, ensuring consistency across teams and markets.
  • Make the case for investment in new channels, formats, or tools, owning the business case and trade-offs and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Own influencer strategy and budget, identifying the most appropriate partners, building content strategies and managing contracts
  • Take ideas from concept through to delivery, ensuring content is platform-native, on-brand and performing well
  • Support in production and concepting of paid-social content for acquisition and brand media, ensuring socially native ideas that cut through and drive awareness and acquisition

Content & campaigns

  • Run integrated social campaigns for product launches, brand moments, and key partnership announcements, in close coordination with Marketing and PR.
  • Generate compelling creative assets for social-first storytelling, collaborating with PR, Creative, and Compliance to bring ideas to life within regulated content requirements.
  • Manage content calendars and publishing schedules across multiple markets, keeping output planned, on-brand, and on time.

Performance & insight

  • Deliver regular reporting, competitive analysis, and audience insight to inform strategy and track progress against goals.
  • Experiment with new channels, formats, and techniques, using data to assess what's working and making the case for investment or change.
  • Work with key stakeholders to evaluate and adopt social analytics tools that drive smarter decision-making.

Team & stakeholders

  • Manage and develop 2 direct reports, building their capability and creating a high-quality, motivated team.
  • Evangelise social media best practice across the wider team and business, acting as the internal expert on platform trends and audience behaviour.

What You'll Need:

  • Experience in a social media role, with a demonstrable track record of growing and improving channel performance across multiple markets.
  • Proven experience in paid social and performance marketing, including campaign planning, execution, and optimisation.
  • Experience working in financial services or a similarly regulated industry, with an understanding of compliance requirements in content production.
  • Strong content creation skills, with the ability to brief, produce, or quality-assure social-first assets across formats.
  • Confident working cross-functionally — able to manage relationships with Marketing, PR, Legal, and Compliance stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to evaluate performance and inform creative and strategic decisions.
  • Experience managing and developing direct reports.
  • Track record of owning and defending strategic and investment decisions with senior stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Experience working on a trading, investment, or financial product or platform or content.
  • Short-form video production skills, including Reels or TikTok content creation and editing.
  • Experience of integrating AI in Workflows or an interest in learning how to do so.
  • Experience growing and managing social channels for a large B2C consumer brand across multiple markets.
  • Community management experience, including audience engagement and moderation.
  • An additional European language.

The perks:

  • It really is more than a job. We think like a start-up, but we deliver like a FTSE 100 — so the bar is high, and we won't pretend otherwise. We work hybrid, which means three days in the office. We’ll recognise your talent and make sure that you can still have a life – at work, and outside of it. Networks, committees, awards, sports and social clubs, mentorships, volunteering opportunities, extra time off… the list goes on. Competitive salary
  • Flexible Benefits Package on top of your salary (12%)
  • Private medical cover
  • Life insurance
  • Contribution to gym memberships
  • 25 Days holiday, with 1 additional day off to celebrate your Birthday & 2 additional days off a year for voluntary work (28 in total)
  • The option to buy or sell holiday days
  • Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning Platform
  • A comprehensive global and local onboarding process
  • Employee-led LGBTQ+, Women's, Black and Parents & Carers networks with an annual budget for organising events & projects that foster an open, diverse and inclusive culture
  • Enhanced primary (maternity), secondary (paternity), and shared parental pay and leave, as well as a range of support and benefits for parents
  • Option to participate and create ESG initiatives based on IG Brighter Future Fund
