General Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior SharePoint Administrator to join our Microsoft 365 support team to support the day-to-day administration, performance, and governance of our global multi-geo SharePoint Online environment within Microsoft 365. This position plays a critical role in maintaining platform stability, managing user permissions, supporting site and page design, enforcing governance and security standards, and driving collaboration efficiency across a 15,000+ user organization operating in multiple time zones. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in SharePoint administration and configuration, a strong understanding of Microsoft 365 services, and the ability to support and optimize a large-scale, enterprise-level SharePoint environment.

This role requires a hands-on professional with strong application administration skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of supporting and optimizing SharePoint with a customer centric focus in a global, multi-time zone , fast pace environment.

Essential Functions of the job:

SharePoint Administration & Support

  • Serve as one of the administrator for SharePoint Online and related M365 collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, OneDrive for Business, Power Platform integrations).
  • Manage permissions, access control, and security groups in alignment with organizational policies and compliance frameworks.
  • Build, configure, and maintain SharePoint sites, subsites, lists, libraries, views, workflows, and pages according to business requirements.
  • Support day-to-day operational tasks such as:
    • Creating and managing site collections and content databases
    • Configuring site templates and web parts
    • Monitoring storage, usage, and quota limits
    • Applying updates, patches, and feature releases
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for SharePoint-related issues escalated from the Service Desk; troubleshoot and resolve complex user or system issues.
  • Partner with Microsoft and third-party vendors for incident resolution, service requests, and escalations.
  • Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and site inventory; ensure consistent compliance with BeOne governance and retention policies.
  • Perform routine health checks, capacity planning, and monitoring of site performance and uptime.

Governance & Compliance

  • Enforce corporate SharePoint governance policies, naming conventions, and site provisioning standards.
  • Partner with Information Security and Compliance teams to ensure data protection, access control, and retention align with SOX, GDPR, and internal standards.
  • Review and manage SharePoint audit logs, permissions audits, and content lifecycle management as needed.

User Enablement & Collaboration Support

  • Provide guidance and best practices to business users, site owners, and content contributors.
  • Support site owners in implementing workflows, lists, and document management solutions using native SharePoint and Power Automate tools.
  • Conduct training and workshops for end users and site administrators to improve adoption and ensure effective utilization.
  • Maintain a self-service support model through documentation, FAQs, and learning materials.

Integration & Automation

  • Support and maintain integrations between SharePoint and Microsoft Teams, Power BI, Power Automate, and third-party tools.
  • Participate in M365 roadmap planning and testing of new SharePoint features before deployment.

Operational Excellence

  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as uptime, response times, user adoption, and support metrics.
  • Continuously evaluate new features, technologies, and process improvements to enhance the user experience and platform efficiency.
  • Participate in change management, incident response, and continuous improvement initiatives within the GTS team.

Education Required:  Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field/experiences

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience administering SharePoint Online in a large-scale global enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency in SharePoint site and permissions management, PowerShell scripting, and Microsoft 365 admin center.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Azure AD integration.
  • Experience with SharePoint site provisioning, governance, and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI) for workflow and automation.
  • Knowledge of information governance, retention, and compliance frameworks (SOX, GDPR, GxP, etc.).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills with demonstrated experience resolving complex issues.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator across technical and non-technical teams.

Other Qualifications:  

  • Experience in migration projects (on-prem to SharePoint Online or tenant-to-tenant).
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell or equivalent automation tools.
  • Understanding of networking, identity management, and Microsoft 365 security.
  • Strong process improvement orientation and customer service mindset.
  • Working knowledge of computer system validation documentation is a plus.
