What You'll Do
- Lead Sensor Intelligence at the Core of Autonomy: Design and implement robust, multi-modal fusion algorithms that integrate data from cameras, LiDAR, radar, sonar, IMUs, and novel maritime/aerospace sensors - delivering unified, reliable perception to enable safe, scalable autonomy.
- Architect for the Air–Sea Frontier: Develop and integrate robust fusion logic - including data association and multi-object tracking - to support autonomy and navigation across hull-borne, hydrofoil-borne, and wing-borne modes.
- Validate in Simulation, Prove in the Field: Create high-fidelity simulation tools and leverage real-world datasets to evaluate performance, then take it to the water - driving fusion refinement through rapid prototyping and live-sea trials.
- Engineer Sensor Systems that Stay in Sync: Lead calibration, synchronization, and validation of sensor modalities to ensure accurate, reliable perception in dynamic, high-stakes environments.
- Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work side-by-side with autonomy, controls, perception, and hardware teams to define system-level interfaces and integration strategies that scale from prototype to production.
- Lead with Impact: Mentor earlier-career engineers, contribute to technical direction and code quality, and help shape the sensor fusion roadmap that will drive the future of our vehicle intelligence.

What We Do
REGENT’s mission is to drastically reduce the time and cost of moving people and goods between coastal cities. Our vehicle, called a seaglider, is an all-electric, wing-in-ground-effect craft that operates within a wingspan of the water's surface and couples the speed of an airplane with the operating cost of a boat. Built to the same safety standards as all modern aircraft and watercraft, our vehicle will service routes up to 180 miles with existing battery technology and routes up to 500 miles with next-gen batteries, all via existing dock infrastructure. Our world-class team of aerospace and maritime engineers are leveraging maritime vehicle development pathways to bring our zero-emission, high-speed seagliders to market within five years.
