To join our team as an Senior HVAC Energy Engineer. At CLEAResult, we lead the transition to a sustainable, equitable, and carbon-neutral energy-efficient future for our communities and our planet. This position will empower a motivated engineer to make a difference in the energy-efficiency industry by leading innovative and technically robust solutions toward identifying efficiency opportunities and quantifying savings potential. The individual will develop and deliver energy efficiency and integrated demand side management solutions as they relate to our Strategic Energy Management Commercial and Industrial Programs.

Travel throughout California will be required, and occasional overnight stays may be necessary. With engineers located throughout the state, we strive to assign engineers to work sites within driving distance where possible.

For this opportunity, you’re a great fit if you can…

  • Lead site visits to discover energy savings opportunities in commercial and/or industrial sites, collect information onsite needed for energy savings calculations, and present actionable and constructible measures for customer implementation.

  • Calculate and report out on energy and demand savings and greenhouse gas emission reductions for participant sites, consistent with the California SEM M&V Guide.

  • Write and inform technical documents and publications and conduct quality review of content.

  • Provide general project oversight and quality control/assurance and continuously inform customers and project team of updates and necessary adjustments.

  • Collaborate and work within a multi-disciplinary team to perform and lead technical work supporting energy efficiency programs

  • Apply deep knowledge of HVAC systems and controls, including during review of Building Automation Systems both virtually and in-person, to identify opportunities

  • Develop and rationalize energy savings calculation methodologies

  • Apply knowledge of IPMVP options for measurement and verification

  • Provide technical or strategic direction on how to improve energy saving programs, recommend innovative solutions to program and client/utility policies, and champion solutions that will advance the energy efficiency industry

  • Work with technical reviewers and evaluators to qualify custom projects and defend program savings

  • Effectively resolve challenges faced with clients/contractors/regulators/governing entities to address deficiencies and/or inconsistencies in calculations and/or policy adherence

  • Maintain client satisfaction and develop new client relationships

In this exciting career opportunity, you will have…

  • BS in Engineering (mechanical or electrical engineering preferred) 

  • Experience level: 6-8 years of applicable experience in energy efficiency consulting, program implementation, or consulting engineering

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

  • Measurement and verification certification

  • Field experience in independently conducting energy audits and verification inspections

  • BAS and/or RCx experience

  • Excellent technical and non-technical writing and communication abilities; ability to convey findings to diverse technical and non-technical audiences

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with SQL, Power BI, or other data visualization and analysis tools is a plus

  • Industry knowledge of Strategic Energy Management preferred

Compensation Range

$115,000.00 -120,000.00

This is a safety-sensitive position and may include field work (such as work in industrial/commercial locations and customer homes), warehouse work, or requires driving on behalf of the company. Individuals provided a conditional offer of employment for this position must successfully pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test and consent to the company obtaining a motor vehicle report evidencing a satisfactory driving record. Applicants for driving positions must hold a valid driver's license, and individuals provided a conditional offer of employment must successfully pass a drug test and maintain a clean driving record as an ongoing requirement for continued employment.
