About the Role
We are seeking an energetic, positive, and highly proactive Senior Scrum Master / Agile Delivery Lead to help bring momentum, clarity, and enthusiasm to a distributed engineering organization of approximately 20 developers. This individual will “set the tone” for the team—motivating members, strengthening collaboration, and creating a productive, upbeat environment that supports high performance.
You will support several Agile sub-teams, lead all ceremonies, coordinate across time zones, and partner closely with Product Management. You’ll also lead our 3-day quarterly planning sessions, help write and prioritize tickets, manage release tickets, and assist with light testing to keep delivery flowing smoothly.
This role is ideal for someone who is not only skilled in Agile practices but also thrives on inspiring teams and increasing forward momentum.
Responsibilities
Agile Leadership & Execution
- Lead Agile ceremonies with energy, clarity, and a positive presence.
- Encourage engagement and foster participation across all teams.
- Proactively identify and remove roadblocks that slow momentum.
- Inspire the team to consistently improve predictability and performance.
Quarterly Planning (3-Day Event)
- Lead a vibrant, well-structured quarterly planning event that aligns teams and energizes the organization.
- Keep discussions focused and productive while encouraging collaboration.
- Facilitate identification of priorities, dependencies, and deliverables.
Backlog & Ticket Management
- Collaborate with Product Management to maintain a clear, prioritized, and healthy backlog.
- Assist in writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical tickets.
- Help teams break down complex initiatives into manageable, motivating increments.
Release Ticket Management
- Coordinate and track all release tickets across environments.
- Ensure readiness, documentation, and communication of releases.
- Maintain a calm, positive, and organized release process.
Testing Support
- Perform light functional testing or story validation when needed.
- Help verify acceptance criteria to support on-time, high-quality releases.
Distributed Team Coordination
- Connect U.S. and India teams with strong communication and uplifting leadership.
- Help maintain alignment despite time-zone differences.
- Encourage a sense of team belonging, shared purpose, and unity.
Cross-Functional Communication
- Act as a bridge between engineering, product, and stakeholders.
- Keep communication upbeat, transparent, and solution-focused.
- Surface risks or issues early with constructive recommendations.
Metrics & Reporting
- Monitor and communicate key delivery metrics.
- Use data to create positive momentum and support continuous improvement.
Coaching & Culture Building
- Foster an environment of trust, empowerment, and positivity.
- Coach team members and leads in Agile mindset and collaboration.
- Promote a culture of enthusiasm, openness, and forward movement.
Qualifications
Required
- 4+ years as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead.
- Experience motivating and energizing engineering teams.
- Experience leading multiple Agile teams or sub-teams.
- Background coordinating U.S.–India or similar distributed teams.
- Experience with backlog refinement and story writing.
- Experience managing release tickets and release readiness.
- Basic proficiency with functional testing.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills with a positive, upbeat style.
- Proficiency with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
- Ability to work hybrid onsite in Orange County, CA.
Preferred
- Experience in SaaS or enterprise software.
- Agile certification (CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP).
- Experience leading quarterly/PI planning.
- Familiarity with scaling frameworks (SAFe, LeSS).
- Background in QA, release management, or delivery operations.
