As our Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for leading projects for developing our future intumescent products. You will be planning experiments and external testing for certifications,  working with a team of laboratory technicians and scientists.

This role is based in our Passive Fire Protection R&D Centre of Excellence in Santa Perpetua de Mogoda, near Barcelona (Spain). Our new office space and brand-new laboratories are a great environment for brilliant product development. In addition, we offer a flex work policy providing a better work-life balance.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including all Segment & Product Management, to support our business by increasing the competitiveness of our PFP product assortment and pushing the Hempel Passive Fire Protection segment to a market leader position. This is your opportunity to play a key role and influence the future success of our Passive Fire Protection R&D area.

What does it take to become our new team member?

• ​University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Engineering or Chemistry) or equivalent experience in the coatings industry.
• Knowledge and proven experience in development of pains and coatings.  Experience with intumescent paints would be valuable but it is not a requirement.
• Project management skills and good stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication skills in written and verbal English.
