The Scientist, mRNA Development position supports the RNA Sciences R&D team by performing variety of independent tasks from internal R&D projects to client driven campaigns and optimization of existing products/processes. The Scientist, mRNA Development is expected to be motivated and capable of efficient prioritization, planning and scheduling multiple projects in order to effectively meet pre-determined deadlines.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Design and execute on the research and development of new services and technologies such as (not limited to) mRNA, proteins, antibodies and non- traditional plasmid vectors
• Lead the execution of experiments and bio-physical and chemical data analysis
• Create data driven project summary reports, and presenting findings and recommendations to senior management
• Support, lead or actively contribute to a team setting within the laboratory and potentially with other departmental work teams to: increase efficiency, solve problems, generate cost savings, improve quality, and provide new innovation support

The essential requirements for the job are:

• PhD in Biochemistry or related scientific field preferred with 3+ years relevant work experience OR Master’s degree with preference of 5+ years of relevant work experience OR Bachelor’s degree with preference of 8+ years of relevant work experience
• 3+ years of experience working in a molecular biology, biochemistry or microbiology laboratory environment
• Experience in process development and optimization (biologics), assay optimization, experimental design, data analysis and data concept presentation
• Biochemical engineering principles and skills, including scale-up and process optimization
• Bio-analytical method development skills, including chromatographic based methods, mass spectrometry methods, calorimetric and biophysical and chemical characterization of biologics
