Our Finance team is seeking to hire a Tax Analyst within the Controllership Team. The Controllership Team is a dynamic, hardworking, and collaborative team responsible for managing the accounting, treasury, tax, and audit functions within ZS.
Controllership is expected to bring logic, expertise, discipline, and a controls mindset to our business stakeholders, both internally and externally. Internal stakeholders include senior leadership, client teams and other enterprise groups, and external stakeholders include our network of lenders, audit, and tax professionals.
Candidate must possess a strong tax background, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to understand and add value to ZS's business. Ability to flex/multitask, critically evaluate processes and collaborate are additional prerequisites.
What You'll Do:
- Work directly with the Tax Manager, external tax advisors, and other key stakeholders to support ZS's global tax compliance requirements, including indirect tax compliance, transfer pricing policies, and new global reporting requirements.
- Manage sales tax compliance and related tax research.
- Assist with sales-tax project implementation and maintenance, including working with external consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure sales tax is properly collected and remitted to state authorities.
- Manage tax audits with the assistance of external tax advisors.
- Assist with tracking, preparing, reviewing, and coordinating payments for various federal/state/local tax filings and reports.
- Conduct preliminary research for various international, federal, state, and local tax issues.
- Liaise with various external third-party service providers and manage their overall progress on tax related items.
- Collaborate with the broader finance team, as well as various other departments within ZS (Legal, HR, etc.) and assist with various tax matters.
- Keep abreast of tax-related updates and industry trends in order to maintain ZS's compliance and its processes efficient and effective.
- Assist in the supervision and mentoring of junior controllership team members in the US and India. Provide coaching and assist in elevating the capabilities of direct reports and the controllership team as a whole.
What You'll Bring:
- BS/BA degree in Accounting, or related area, with strong academic credentials
- CPA preferred, but not required
- 2-4 years of relevant experience, either in a professional services firm or for-profit business.
- Excellent organizational and task management skills
- Ability to think strategically and commercially and a willingness to dive down into the details
- Ability to work closely with senior leaders while retaining objective and professional finance perspective
- Judgment to know when to challenge something and when to lend support
- High motivation, strong work ethic and personal initiative
