Job Summary

The Senior Account Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth, developing strategic customer relationships, and securing new business opportunities in support of company objectives. This role manages the full sales cycle, from prospecting and opportunity development through contract execution and customer retention. The Senior Account Representative serves as a key link between customers and internal teams, translating technical capabilities into customer-focused solutions and helping drive the successful commercialization of Claros' water treatment technologies.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in technical sales, preferably within the water treatment industry, and demonstrate a proven track record of achieving ambitious sales goals while developing long-term client relationships. This individual will work cross-functionally with chemistry, engineering, operations, and executive leadership to ensure successful customer outcomes and sustainable business growth. The role builds upon existing sales skillset while expanding strategic leadership and commercial growth expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Business Development

• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and profitability objectives.

• Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities within municipal, industrial, commercial, and environmental markets.

• Lead business development efforts to expand market presence and increase brand awareness.

• Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities and ensure accurate sales forecasting.

• Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments affecting the water treatment market.

• Establish annual sales objectives and performance metrics aligned with company goals.

Customer Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, engineering firms, consultants, municipalities, and industrial customers.

• Manage strategic accounts and serve as the primary point of contact for high-value customers.

• Conduct customer meetings, technical presentations, site visits, and product demonstrations.

• Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive communication and effective problem resolution.

• Identify opportunities for account growth, recurring revenue, and long-term partnerships.

Technical Sales & Solution Development

• Consult with customers to understand operational challenges and recommend customized solutions.

• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to evaluate project requirements and develop proposals.

• Support pilot studies, demonstrations, and commercial system implementations.

• Lead the preparation of pricing proposals, quotations, and contract negotiations.

• Effectively communicate technical concepts and equipment capabilities to customers and stakeholders.

Project & Commercial Management

• Oversee the sales process from initial prospecting through contract execution and project handoff.

• Work closely with internal departments to ensure successful project implementation and customer satisfaction.

• Support invoice management, contract compliance, and revenue collection efforts.

• Ensure projects are aligned with customer requirements, company objectives, and profitability goals.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Water Resources, or a related field required.

• MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience

• 6–10 years of progressive sales experience, ideally within water treatment equipment sales, wastewater treatment systems, environmental solutions, or industrial equipment markets.

• Proven experience developing high-performing sales teams.

• Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales and revenue targets.

• Experience with complex technical sales cycles and capital equipment opportunities.

• Strong track record of developing strategic customer relationships and driving business growth.

• Experience with enterprise-level sales and high-value contract negotiations preferred.

• Experience managing complex sales cycles and driving strategies that reduce time-to-close and improve sales velocity.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment technologies and equipment.

• Understanding of industrial treatment systems, filtration systems, treatment processes, and environmental solutions.

• Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills.

• Strong business acumen and strategic planning capabilities.

• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

• Advanced negotiation and contract management abilities.

• Proven ability to influence decision-makers and build lasting customer relationships.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel up to 50% for customer meetings, site visits, conferences, trade shows, and business development activities.
