Summary
At Smith Micro, we develop software that helps leading wireless service providers and cable operators simplify, enhance, and monetize the mobile experience. Our solutions enable carriers to engage, protect, and retain subscribers through connected family safety, digital parenting, consumer IoT management, and next-generation voice messaging. Our current product portfolio includes SafePath, a Family Digital Lifestyle platform that supports family location, parental controls, digital safety, connected device management, and flexible carrier deployment models; and CommSuite, a voice messaging platform that adds intelligence, usability, and value-added services to the mobile voice experience.
We are looking for a Senior Sales person based in Portugal to lead strategic sales efforts across EMEA markets. This role will focus on carrier, cable operator opportunities and other membership organizations, for software platforms that support family safety, digital parenting, connected device experiences, and next-generation voice messaging. You will work closely with Smith Micro’s product, engineering, marketing, and executive teams to identify opportunities, shape customer solutions, guide pilots and trials, and support successful commercial launches.
The successful candidate will be a commercially driven sales leader with a strong track record of building executive relationships, developing account strategies, and closing complex technology opportunities with telecom and cable customers. You will help position SafePath and CommSuite solutions effectively, expand Smith Micro’s presence in EMEA, and drive sustainable revenue growth. Experience using AI tools to create executive presentations, refine customer messaging, or support practical go-to-market strategies is a plus.

- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, with accurate quarterly and annual revenue forecasting
- Strengthen existing customer relationships and develop new relationships across executive, commercial, and technical stakeholders
- Coordinate internal teams, including solution engineering, technology leadership, product development, and program support, to respond effectively to new opportunities
- Provide account insights, market feedback, and customer requirements to product, strategy, and sales leadership
- Use market insights and, where applicable, AI-enabled tools to support compelling customer presentations, sales materials, and practical go-to-market strategies
- Conduct market and competitive analysis, including pricing and positioning recommendations
- Guide the successful execution of pilots, trials, projects, and product launches through effective cross-functional collaboration
- Take accountability for revenue contribution, business growth, and achievement of current and long-range objectives
- Travel to different countries as needed, specially in EMEA
What You Will Bring
- Significant sales experience in mobile, telecom, SaaS, or related technology markets, ideally with major MNO, cable, or carrier accounts
- A proactive business development mindset, with the ability to open new doors and uncover new opportunities
- A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and growth objectives
- Experience presenting to and engaging with senior executives, commercial decision-makers, and technical buyers
- Preferred: experience using AI tools to develop executive-level presentations, customer-facing narratives, and go-to-market strategy recommendations
- Ability to create, develop, and sustain relationships with strategic partners and customer stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales opportunities from discovery and qualification through solution design, business modeling, negotiation, close, and implementation
- Proven ability to maintain a healthy sales pipeline that supports or exceeds revenue forecasts
- Experience managing sales activities for multiple, complex software platforms
- Strong forecasting discipline, with the ability to accurately assess timing, probability, and revenue impact
- Demonstrated success negotiating complex commercial contracts
- High energy, resilience, and a results-oriented approach to building and closing business
Technical Expertise

- Strong English communication skills are required, with other EMEA languages considered a plus
- Prior experience selling software and prior experience working with wireless carriers a plus.
