Location & Travel:
Our Walnut Creek, CA office is conveniently located near public transportation (BART), is ideally situated for bicycle commuters, has plenty of free parking, and an abundance of eateries in the surrounding area. Occasional travel to the home office will be required for team meetings. Otherwise, this is a remote position which requires up to 60% travel within your territory to encourage face to face meetings with customers. You have flexibility to work from home when you’re not traveling.
Position Summary:
Canadian Solar is seeking a technically minded Senior Sales Manager, National Accounts for our Residential Energy Storage product: EP Cube. In this role you will uncover new B2B opportunities and foster strong relationships within the new home builders’ network. You’ll be trusted to strategic identify and qualify high potential opportunities, drive long term partnerships and cement Canadian Solar as the leading choice for Energy Storage and other components from the CSI portfolio.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Generate, identify, qualify and contact new business leads for the Residential Energy Storage division of Canadian Solar: EP Cube and promote the sale of products from our portfolio.
- Establish new relationships with new home builders and construction companies that will result in new revenue channels and perpetuate Canadian Solar's reputation as a leading manufacturer.
- Meet with existing distribution and installation partners that are servicing the new home building space; develop a close relationship in order to ensure EP Cube is positioned as their top choice.
- Travel approximately 50% (or more) throughout the year within your designated sales territory to build strong sales pipelines using your deep technical knowledge.
- Track all customer leads in our CRM and use data to track how you're pacing towards meeting and exceeding individual and team KPI's (key performance indicators).
- Partner closely with internal Executives in Sales, Operations, Planning and more to establish revenue forecasts, communicate progress and conduct prospect reviews.
- Use your expert knowledge of rebate programs available to new home builders along with your technical prowess to elevate our brand and close deals with confidence.
- Participate in trade shows and conferences to represent the company, to entertain clients and prospects and to close new sales opportunities.
- Establish “product bankability” to support clients with project financing and lender acceptance.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of B2B sales experience, within the Energy Storage or Battery industry
- 3+ years selling to new home, builders, construction or other real estate related experience
- 5+ years B2B sales of tangible products that are technical and/or electrical in nature
- Proven ability to quickly build B2B relationships within the construction space, uncover their unique challenges, qualify the lead and offer solutions from the CSI portfolio.
- You’re currently living in California within 1 hour of a major airport and have an excitement for face to face conversations with potential customers; traveling 50% (or more) throughout the year.
- You have your own playbook for generating new business within the new home construction.
- Strong ability to find the decision maker in a complex deal, qualify the sale as a viable opportunity & overcome objections using your technical knowledge of PV + BESS
- Expert Presentation and communication skills - In person, over video/phone and email
- Excellent interpersonal skills: you're a team player, open to trying to new things, receptive to coaching and feedback and can thrive while managing yourself in a remote capacity
- High proficiency with MS Office applications, including Outlook, Excel and CRM tools
- Bachelors or Associate degree in business management, administration, engineering, supply chain or related a related field is a plus, but not required
- Bilingual in Spanish or other languages are a plus, but not required
Compensation and Benefits:
Canadian Solar offers a competitive salary plus fully comprehensive benefits and performance bonus package based on an annual objective achievement. Our generous benefits package includes a 401(k) Retirement Plan, medical/dental/life/disability program, PTO and sick days. This is a full time position.
The pay range for this position is $135,000 - $150,000. This range represents annual base salary only, without regard to location, and does not include the 60% bonus target or other incentives that pay quarterly. Additional benefits that may apply. The pay range for this role is subject to change.
