Senior Ruby on Rails Software Developer responsible for modifying, developing, and maintaining code, participating in design discussions, and collaborating with teams to resolve issues and implement new ideas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand and perform basic analysis of previously written software, and be able to modify, develop, and maintain the code.
  • Carry out security, bug-fixing, and app improvement (i.e. detect, investigate, and fix defects).
  • Participate in design discussions, code walkthroughs, review sessions, and accept constructive feedback; also be happy to review the work of colleagues.
  • Provide a “can-do” attitude, prepared to learn whatever tools, technologies, or methodologies are best suited for a task and continual improvement.
  • Perform complex development tasks with a high level of quality, and within scheduled time frames.
  • Participate in daily Scrum meetings.
  • Communicates effectively with peers to relay the status of work and raise challenges, concerns, questions, and issues when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Support and Marketing teams to understand, investigate, and resolve any reported issues and/or implement new ideas.

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Advanced and in-depth knowledge of Ruby on Rails, SQL, CSS, & HTML.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of development experience on a team (in a professional environment).
  • Someone who is willing to learn a new framework and put in the work to help the team at large.
  • TDD knowledge and familiarity at an advanced level.
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science (or a related field) is required.
  • Master's Degree (preferred).
  • Pass a "take-home" technical assessment (5 days will be given to complete this. More information will be provided if you are selected to move forward after initial call).
