TITLE: Senior Robotics Software Engineer
Location: Burlingame, CA
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Software Engineer is a key member of the software team who will be responsible for the development and test of critical software modules for the Triton Medical Robot Software. This member is expected to own software subsystems, running code reviews and helping build a robust and safe software.
JOB DUTIES
- Analyze and improve surgical instruments and medical robot control performance.
- Design and develop software for medical safety critical applications, surgical robotic systems and motion control algorithms.
- Create kinematic models and/or modeling system dynamics for surgical robotic systems or sub-assemblies.
- Characterize and improve the control performance of linear time-invariant control systems.
- Document software designs, reviews and processes.
- Own and implement critical software sub-systems while adding new functionality to the robot.
- Deep dive in understanding of the current medical robotics system and help debug complex issues as needed.
- Support software and system infrastructure upgrades as needed.
- Mentor peers and junior engineers with software design and code reviews.
EDUCATIONAL AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess a master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics or related field, will accept foreign equivalency.
- Must have 3 years experience in designing and developing software applications for surgical robotic systems with the following skills, which could be gained concurrently.
- Experience with C++ and Python programming languages; experience working with Linux based operating systems and experience with MATLAB and other scripting languages.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is between $140,000 and $150,000 depending on experience. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location.
