The role
Raydar is recruiting for this opportunity through the Paraform network. The position is with our client. Develop production control and localization systems for heavy autonomous vehicles operating in challenging industrial environments.
What you'll do
- Design and tune MPC and PID algorithms for autonomous vehicles across changing loads and terrain.
- Develop localization and state-estimation pipelines using GPS/RTK, IMUs, and other sensors.
- Analyze field tests and recorded logs to diagnose control issues.
- Integrate controls with perception, planning, and hardware systems.
- Travel to customer sites for deployment, testing, and tuning.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 3 to 10 years of relevant robotics controls experience.
- Production deployment experience with localization, navigation, or lateral and longitudinal control on real autonomous vehicles.
- Hands-on ROS, Linux, and model predictive control experience.
- Strong Python and C++ programming, with Kalman filtering and sensor-fusion knowledge.
- A degree in robotics, mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering.
Bonus points
- Experience in autonomous mining or heavy vehicles.
- A master's degree or PhD in a controls-related discipline.

- Base salary: USD 170,000 to 220,000 per year.

Location and work model
- Five days per week onsite in San Francisco, with up to 15% travel to customer sites. Relocation support is available.
