Senior Roadway Design Engineer

STV Is seeking a skilled Senior Roadway Designer Engineer with a strong background and focus on digital delivery procedures to join our STV team in North Carolina. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and development of roadway infrastructure projects, including highways, streets, intersections, and other transportation systems. The role will involve the development of roadway design using 3D model-based designs to deliver high quality products to our clients. The candidate shall have vast OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation experience with strong communication and leadership skills. You will work closely with project teams to streamline workflows throughout the project development lifecycle. The role will also require you to assist in the configuring, managing, and supporting CAD workspaces, ensuring it aligns with project workflows and enhances team collaboration.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide professional design services for transportation improvement projects for municipal agencies and NCDOT.
• Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget
• Coordinate design development and assisting with technical direction to other design staff
• Collaborate with team members to streamline and maintain supplemental workspace configurations that can be used across all projects
• Improve roadway engineering project workflows by developing and supporting user training material
• Support users and advise project team leaders on improved workflows and processes to support project deliverables
• Establish working relationships and interface with client technical staff and project managers

Required Skills:

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in all technical aspects of roadway design including highway, reduced conflict intersections, roundabouts, intersections, widenings, and bike/ped design.
• Expertise in OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, Geopak, and Bentley ProjectWise
• Familiarity with Managed Workspace concepts, configurations, and workflows
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work within a multidisciplinary team.
