Job Description

Position Summary

The Senior Risk Engineer will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of the project's risk management framework across engineering, procurement, module fabrication, logistics and construction readiness activities.

The successful candidate will develop and maintain integrated project risk registers, facilitate risk workshops, undertake qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, perform schedule and cost risk analyses, and provide insight into emerging project threats and opportunities.

This role requires significant experience supporting major LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical or energy infrastructure projects, together with a strong understanding of modular execution strategies, engineering delivery, international procurement and module fabrication programs. Experience with digital project controls environments, data analytics and AI-enabled risk management tools is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project risk management framework, governance, and culture.
  • Identify, assess, prioritize, and monitor project risks and opportunities.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative risk analysis for cost, schedule, and project performance.
  • Manage fabrication, procurement, logistics, and supply chain risks.
  • Develop and track mitigation, contingency, and opportunity plans.
  • Implement digital risk analytics, dashboards, and predictive reporting.
  • Prepare risk reports, governance updates, and executive presentations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to support project objectives.

Qualifications

Requirements & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • 10-15 years’ risk management experience on major EPC projects, including 5+ years in a senior role.
  • Experience in LNG, Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, or major energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of EPC execution, project controls, risk management, and quantitative analysis.
  • Proficient in Excel, Power BI, Monte Carlo simulation, and risk analysis tools (e.g., PRA, @RISK, Safran).
  • Experience with modular projects, fabrication yards, digital project controls, and predictive analytics is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Japanese language capability is a plus.
