Are you ready to revolutionise the world of wireless communications? Morse Micro is seeking a dynamic and talented Senior RF Test Engineer to join our groundbreaking team. If you thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment and have a passion for pushing the boundaries of wireless technology, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
Your analysis drives decisions on whether a module is qualified, a design is ready or a release ships.
You will test, analyse, compare and document the RF performance of Wi-Fi HaLow (802.11ah) designs for the Hardware Applications team. Using Morse Micro's test equipment and statistical methods, you will measure performance against expected targets, validate the quality of production samples and releases, and report clear conclusions for data-driven decision making.
Responsibilities
Test - Run conducted (TX/RX) and over-the-air (OTA) RF tests on Morse Micro reference designs and EVKs, third-party modules, customer designs and production samples. You will use commercial Wi-Fi test instruments and Morse Micro's in-house test software.
Analyse - Process and analyse RF test data using engineering statistics
Compare - Measure results against performance targets, specifications and known-good baselines. Use statistical methods to judge whether differences are real, then summarise the key takeaways.
Validate quality - Check lots and samples against limits, confirm that firmware and hardware releases do not regress RF performance, and run capability studies.
Document - Write clear, concise reports with data-backed recommendations that support data-driven decisions on designs, modules and releases.
Keep test setups, methods and procedures consistent and repeatable.
Attend and participate in technical meetings with engineers to track and follow up blocking issues.
Qualifications / Experience / Skills
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
3+ years of hands-on RF test experience, with applied knowledge of RF components and integrated circuits.
Working knowledge of RF test equipment and practice (Wi-Fi testers, spectrum analysers, signal generators, power meters, shielded enclosures, calibration) and key Wi-Fi RF metrics (TX power, EVM, spectral mask, RX sensitivity).
Strong practical statistics: choose the right method, apply it correctly, and turn data into clear, defensible conclusions.
Clear technical writing and a structured, detail-oriented approach.
Effective use of AI tools for analysis, scripting and reporting, with the judgement to verify their output.
Desirable
Background in wireless communications, RF or signal processing.
Experience with JMP (or Minitab, R or similar statistical software).
Ability to run and modify Python test and analysis scripts.
Knowledge of 802.11ah / Wi-Fi HaLow or other sub-GHz IoT radios.
OTA, chamber or range testing experience.
Quality engineering or Six Sigma background.
What we offer:
Competitive salary and stock option package
10 days work remote from anywhere in the world
Opportunity to work at a cutting-edge startup company
Chance to make a significant impact on the future of wireless technology
Collaborative and supportive work environment

What We Do
Morse Micro is a fast-growing fabless semiconductor company developing Wi-Fi HaLow solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT) market that can reach 10x the range of conventional Wi-Fi technology and last many years on a single battery. The company was founded by Wi-Fi pioneers and innovators, Michael De Nil and Andrew Terry, joined by the original Wi-Fi inventor Prof. Neil Weste and wireless industry veterans, whose teams designed Wi-Fi chips into billions of smartphones. Headquartered in Australia with offices in China, India and the U.S., Morse Micro’s strong and diverse system team, portfolio of IP and patents, enables Wi-Fi HaLow connectivity across the complete IoT ecosystem, from surveillance systems and access control to industrial automation and mobile devices, allowing connected devices to reach farther
