Job purpose:

We are seeking a Senior Retoucher with advanced expertise in digital retouching, layout, and image enhancement to deliver high-quality creative assets across digital and print platforms. This role combines technical mastery with creative vision, collaborating with design, production, and animation teams to produce visually captivating work. The Senior Retoucher ensures consistency, accuracy, and innovation in every deliverable, while also mentoring junior talent and driving continuous improvements in workflows.

Job details: 

• Location: 100% Remote – focus on candidates in Costa Rica, Colombia, and Peru.
• Schedule: Flexible; must be available to support occasional work outside standard business hours or align with agreed schedules for collaboration with global teams and partners.
• Job Type: Freelance / Contractor (hourly-based engagement).
• Language Proficiency: Upper-intermediate English (C1) or higher, with strong conversational skills for calls and collaboration with stakeholders.
• Availability: Flexible or part-time, depending on project demand, with the possibility of full-time engagement for periods ranging from one week to two months.
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a consistent visual style across all assets, with a focus on digital retouching and producing visually captivating designs.
  
• Execute a wide range of print and digital assets, including social media graphics, websites, marketing collateral, presentations, and retouched photographs.
• Manage adaptation, resizing, and retouching of assets for various media platforms and formats.
• Implement feedback to ensure all assets meet project requirements, brand guidelines, and quality standards.
• Perform image clean-up, digital retouching, file preparation, and asset delivery with precision and attention to detail.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering collaboration, skill development, and innovation in digital retouching.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (creative directors, designers, animators, and clients) to understand requirements and deliver effective creative solutions.
• Lead and manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring brand consistency and timely delivery.
• Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively in fast-paced environments.
• Contribute to strategic goals in partnership with Leads, aligning retouching efforts with client expectations and business objectives.
• Facilitate clear communication and present creative concepts and retouched imagery to stakeholders with clarity and professionalism.
• Foster a cooperative team culture by sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and supporting continuous improvement.
• Stay current with industry trends, tools, and production techniques, applying them to enhance creative outcomes and elevate team expertise.

Required Academic Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Multimedia, Photography, or a related creative field.
• Equivalent professional experience in digital retouching or creative production may be considered in place of formal education.
• Advanced certifications in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Motion Graphics are a plus.
  

Required Skills and Experience:

• Over 5 years of professional experience in digital retouching and final delivery within creative and advertising agency environments.
• Proven expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), plus working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Keynote.
• Strong background in layout, digital retouching, and preparing final files for both print and digital media (social media pieces, landing pages, email design, marketing collateral).
• Exceptional visual design and retouching skills with a sharp eye for typography, color, and composition.
• Ability to conceptualize and create innovative designs and enhanced imagery across diverse platforms, with awareness of emerging trends and technologies.
• Solid understanding of print production processes, including preparing files, overseeing print runs, and applying advanced retouching techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments, managing multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines.
• Successful track record of team collaboration, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
• Strong commitment to continuous learning and staying up to date with industry trends, tools, and best practices to elevate digital retouching quality.
  

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of 3D tools such as Blender or Cinema 4D.
• Familiarity with motion graphics, video editing, illustration, or other multimedia formats.
• Experience in project management or production workflows within creative environments.
• Additional certifications or training in Adobe Creative Suite, Visual Design, or Advertising.
