Position Description:
The Senior Research Associate, Discovery will work with Tr1X’s Research and Development team to design and execute in vitro and in vivo studies to characterize candidate cellular therapy products to support pipeline program advancement. This role offers exposure to company leadership, prime mentoring and scientific training, and an opportunity to be a high-impact contributor to the company’s mission and vision. The successful candidate will have technical expertise in the design, execution, and data analysis of immunological techniques including flow cytometry, ELISA, MSD, and similar methods.
The Impact You’ll Make:
- Perform - primary human immune cell isolation, lentiviral transductions of primary cells, cell propagation.
- Execute - assays to evaluate and characterize the function and activities of cells.
- Contribute - to experimental design and method improvement/optimization.
- Evaluate - various protocols in support of process development activities.
- Maintain - detailed and highly organized documentation of experimental procedures and data.
- Analyze - data in a timely manner and present findings at team/departmental meetings.

You have:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline and 5+ years of experience or an MS with 2+ years of experience in immunology, cell biology or related discipline including at least 2 years working with primary human cells
- Experience with cell culture for primary human cells, preferably T cells and/or Tregs.
- Experience with T-cell characterization methods (flow cytometry (multiparametric and ICS), cell-based assays (proliferation, cytotoxicity), ELISA, multiplex cytokine assays,
purification using MACS system, etc.). - Experience in data analysis using Graphpad Prism, Excel, and flow cytometry analysis software (e.g. FlowJo).
- Great attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed protocols.
- Agile and flexible mindset yet highly organized.
- Must be able to don and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and to stand for long periods.
- The ability to perform and excel in a start-up environment.
Optimally, you also have:
- Gene editing experience.
- Experience with isolation and culture of human cells from blood and blood products.
- Experience with transduction of primary T-cells with retroviral or lentiviral vectors and/or AAV.
- Previous cell therapy experience.
- Previous experience with electronic lab notebooks (ELN).
