The Mobile engineering team is responsible for developing the React Native apps for iOS, Android, and multiple TV platforms. The iOS & Android applications have over 4 million installs. Alongside the JustWatch.com web app, these help users discover, start, and manage their streaming journeys.
You’ll be joining the mobile development team, which focuses on rapid, experiment-driven feature development, monetisation optimisations, and deep tracking integration, which informs business-wide decisions.
Who we need
As a Senior React Native Developer, you’ll be working on the JustWatch TV & Mobile Apps. For this role, we’re mainly looking for someone with deep experience with TV Apps and a hands-on mentality to help us reach our ambitious goals.
About streaming-related experience, this is the most important part of this role. It will be the full technical aspect of finding and dealing with content streaming. You yourself are a power user, using different services, tons of watch hours, and maybe even some hot takes on what makes the best streaming service.
Curiosity, drive, and passion are the core ingredients we are looking for. You need people to be willing to constantly learn through challenging themselves and others, and love getting things done. We believe in the 80/20 rule and try to apply common sense and pragmatism to everything.
You’ll be primarily working on the development of our streaming capabilities on the TV Apps, as well as new feature development, performance, and architecture decisions to ensure a stable and reliable experience for the millions of users across JustWatch apps.

What we need from you
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: You have a side project (live or in development) or a strong entrepreneurial mindset.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep experience with React Native, TypeScript, and Expo, including native modules and running major version updates.
- Platform Expertise: Proven track record in developing TV Apps and working with streaming technologies.
- Design & Collaboration: Ideally, some experience with UI/UX design (Figma) and the ability to work in cross-functional teams with developers and product managers.
- Ownership & Values: A desire to take full ownership of the TV App, a commitment to constant learning, and excellent communication skills in English.

- Experimentation: Implementing and running A/B tests to validate hypotheses and roll out successful variants.
- Tracking & Insights: Implementing and fixing tracking specifications to better understand user interaction and feature performance.
- Performance & Scaling: Enhancing reliability, accessibility, and performance for a multi-million user ecosystem.
- Internal Tooling: Building tools to monitor and optimise our global app infrastructure.
- Platform Consistency: Ensuring a seamless experience across multiple platforms and various screen sizes.
