The Senior Quality Engineer provides technical leadership across assigned programs and manufacturing areas, ensuring compliance to AS9100/ISO9001, customer requirements, engineering specifications, and internal procedures. This role supports both production and engineering organizations through problem-solving, continuous improvement, RCCA, and quality system excellence.
You will report directly to our Senior Quality Manager, and you’ll work out of our Clearwater, FL location on an On-Site work schedule.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions using structured methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, FTA).
- Support production, R&O, and development areas with quality oversight and technical guidance.
- Perform internal, process, and product audits to AS9100/ISO9001 requirements.
- Review and approve engineering changes, drawings, specifications, and process documentation.
- Support MRB activities and material dispositions (as authorized).
- Lead First Article Inspections (FAI) and ensure compliance with requirements.
- Analyze quality performance metrics to drive improvements in yield, escapes, and reliability.
- Support customer communications, source inspections, and audit readiness.
- Coach and mentor cross-functional teams to strengthen quality culture and standard work.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce defects, risk, and cost.
- Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and adherence to QMS.
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
- 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing.
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 quality systems.
- Experience leading RCCA, internal audits, and cross-functional investigations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with quality tools (SPC, FMEA, FAI, PPAP, MSA, GD&T).
- Strong communication skills with ability to influence across teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
