Key Responsibilities:
- This is an 8–12-week, on-site supplier NPI qualification program. The goal is to create a detailed qualification package to include but not limited to: PFMEA, Control Plan, Process flow, and specific customer documentation.
- Supplier Qualification: Perform a deep dive into client drawings and documentation for 3-4 key products, identifying all critical quality requirements.
- PPAP Development: Work closely with suppliers to evaluate fabrication processes and create detailed PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis) for production.
- Control Plan Creation: Develop comprehensive control plans based on PFMEA, outlining process controls, inspection methodologies, and sub-supplier management as needed.
- Inspection Test Plans: Ability to create Inspection Test Plans based on Risk of potential failures that could happen both during the manufacturing process as well as items to ensure the product and electronics will be safe during shipping and transportation.
- First Article Inspections (FAI): Execute and manage First Article Inspections for key modules, ensuring compliance with design specifications.
- Process Validation: Conduct process validation activities to ensure that manufacturing processes meet customer and industry requirements.
- Final Deliverables: Prepare and deliver a comprehensive qualification package for our client stakeholders, including PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow, and any other required documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years in Quality Engineering, with significant experience in NPI and large electromechanical systems, such as welded structures, HVAC, or power handling systems.
- PPAP Expertise: At least 5 years of experience creating and executing PPAPs, including PFMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, FAI, SPC, GRR, Capability Studies, and Packaging Configuration.
- Electromechanical Manufacturing Knowledge: Strong understanding of processes, materials, and tools in the manufacturing of large electromechanical systems.
- Supplier Management: Proven ability to manage suppliers and create clear, actionable project plans.
- Quality Standards: Deep knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards, with the ability to develop procedures and work instructions.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with both suppliers and clients, and to document processes and deliverables effectively.
- Travel: Ability to travel to client supplier locations in Utah, Colorado, Ohio, and Illinois as needed.
