Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed quality assessments of PCBA manufacturing processes at suppliers' facilities
- Evaluate the potential failure mechanisms specific to harnesses and PCBA components and ensure alignment with industry standards
- Assess the supplier’s manufacturing processes, quality management systems, and adherence to regulatory requirements
- Review and validate supplier documentation, including process flow diagrams, control plans, and quality reports
- Work closely with suppliers to identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions where necessary
- Perform in-depth technical analysis and failure mode evaluations for PCBA assemblies
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards such as IPC-A-610 (for PCBA), ISO 9001, and other applicable regulations
- Provide orientation and training to junior assessors or associates, ensuring adherence to best practices and consistent assessment procedures
- Liaise with suppliers to facilitate introductions, program orientation, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) as required
- Review assessment reports for consistency and alignment with client guidelines, ensuring thoroughness and clarity
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Senior Quality Assessor with a focus on PCBA manufacturing
- Strong understanding of industry standards, including IPC-A-610, IPC-2221, ISO 9001, and others relevant to PCBA processes
- Expertise in evaluating and analyzing manufacturing processes, failure modes, and potential risks in PCBA production
- Familiarity with tools and methods for assessing product quality and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to recommend and implement corrective actions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, clients, and internal teams
- Detail-oriented with the ability to thoroughly review reports and documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Due to the nature of the products, U.S. citizenship is also a requirement, and background checks are required
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) manufacturing and inspection
- Certified to IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or a related discipline
- Skilled in utilizing NADCAP tools for conducting quality assessments and evaluating special process compliance
