Basing on the Mobile Virtual Network Enables platform, BICS IoT solutions aim to offering a global (worldwide) data connectivity solution for IoT device using mobile network (2G, 3G, 4G and soon 5G network) allowing device to exchange data from any location in the world leveraging our BICS global network and carrier relationship. Technically that means BICS is hosting and developing all the core elements of a cellular mobile network (HSS, PGW, OCs, …) as well as all the OSS/BSS tooling to manage it (pricing, billing, rating, portal, API, …). While today’s team of expert have excellent expertise of each of those elements, making them work together, end to end, in a reliable way is challenging.
That’s where the need of an excellent test manager able to coordinate those various team of expert for their QA activity while keeping a helicopter view of the product is key.
As Senior QA Engineer (with Lead experience), you will, in close interaction with the architect and the rest of the teams:
Define the test strategy, approach, means, planning and quality level (acceptance criteria) needed to go live with the product.
Coordinate the day-to-day testing activity. That include prioritization of test executions, review of defects, interaction with the various vendor and stakeholder. Administrating the Jira and Confluence pages/dashboards to track all phases of the testing process
monitoring and control of the test cases design and execution
monitoring and control of the user stories testing status
pre-release bugs tracking in terms of prioritization (highlight blockers) and fixes verification control
monitoring and control of the automation test cycles execution and analysis
preparing the release testing metrics and KPIs for stakeholders
testing team mentoring and tasks distribution
Knowing and understanding the whole platform functionality and be able to detect possible problems and inconsistencies during the new stories design and analysis phase
Actively contribute to testing activities (execute end to end scenario, being fully part of the team to “make things happen”).
User stories analysis and requirements clarification with PO
Test cases review, design and execution
Be the authoritative person giving the final view of the end to end quality of the product (“is the product ready yet? If not what’s missing?”).
Required skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: able to address IT, telco, product and business expert and derive the key criteria guaranteeing the quality of the end product.
Ability to abstract complex solution and give clear direction to the various involved teams to reach the needed level of quality.
Properly balance QA activity across the team to reach an overall quality level – typically avoid that one area is overlooked because the team over-focused on another part.
Willingness to get his/her hand “dirty” digging into content. You will be, with the end-to-end architect one of the expert having a global view of the product.
Excellent discipline to not only define the proper test strategy and approach but also make sure it is followed and applied consistently during the product lifecycle.
Mastering of typical testing tool (Atlassian Zephyr, Jira, Postman etc) and a certain technical background (extract data from a database, perform web service testing, etc…) is required.
Will be a big plus:
While having telecom knowledge would be a big plus, we are willing to leverage our team of expert to train you on the basic of a 3G/4G core network. We expect you to be swift and eager to learn.
Experience in test automation will help to define areas for automation and will improve overall testing strategy.
