As a Freelance Senior QA Engineer you will ensure that projects are delivered to the highest quality from multiple teams. Your main responsibility is to work with project managers, creative leads, and other members of the development team to create and execute test strategies, negotiate test schedules, improve overall QA processes, and coordinate project outputs. You will also leverage a variety of technologies and be a champion of best practice QA thinking within the team.
 
ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Define and manage the QA process across multiple concurrent web projects
  • Test responsive websites across different browsers and devices (desktop/mobile/tablet)
  • Generate detailed test strategies which take into consideration multiple testing approaches
  • Test case development and execution
  • Establish accessibly guidelines and testing web experiences for WCAG / ADA compliance
  • Define and ensure test coverage for non-functional requirements
  • Provide work estimates
  • Support global rollout of content to different geographical locals


QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • 5+ years’ experience testing large-scale, feature rich, brand websites
  • Expertise in front-end web testing and comprehensive understanding of underlying technologies (HTML, CSS & JavaScript)
  • Experience with a broad range of browser-based debugging, inspection, and testing tools
  • Validating websites against detailed design artifacts for pixel perfect layout and adherence to brand guidelines
  • Experience defining a test matrix for responsive websites across a range of browsers, devices, and manufacturers
  • Experience with Gherkin test case format
  • Exposure to running, updating and logging test failures from an automation test harness.  Playwright (preferred), other test frameworks like Cypress or Selenium will suffice
  • Experience testing websites with authentication/registration components
  • Experience testing mixed-media content – (video/audio)
  • Experience working in agile teams and managing quality and release of sprint deliverables and how quality checks dovetail into the development process
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Eager to learn new technologies and tools
  • Ability to work independently as the sole QA practitioner within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Domain knowledge of the education sector or online eLearning management systems a plus
  • Previous experience working at a digital agency environment is a plus

The weekly pay range for this freelance position at the time of this posting is $2,000-2,400. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. Explore our extensive range of benefits here.
