About the Role
We're looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to lead our QA team and own the quality strategy for the platform that powers our AI products.
You'll set the direction for test automation across our Spring Boot and Python microservices, MongoDB data layer, and Angular and React applications — building the frameworks, the pipelines,
and the team that keep releases fast and safe.
What You'll Do
- Lead and mentor the QA team — set standards, review work, and grow automation skills across the group.
- Own the overall test strategy: coverage, risk-based prioritisation, release quality gates, and go/no-go calls.
- Architect and evolve our Playwright-based UI automation framework for Angular and React applications.
- Own API test automation across Spring Boot and Python microservices — functional, integration, contract, and regression suites.
- Define the test data and environment strategy for MongoDB-backed services, including setup, teardown, and isolation.
- Integrate automation into CI/CD so every build runs the right suite and returns fast, reliable, actionable feedback.
- Drive shift-left quality — partner with Product and Engineering on acceptance criteria, testability, and defect prevention.
- Establish and report quality metrics: coverage, defect escape rate, flakiness, and test cycle time.
- Collaborate with DevOps on performance, load, and reliability testing for high-volume document processing workloads
What You'll Bring
- 7-10 years experience in QA and test automation, including experience leading or mentoring a QA team.
- Deep hands-on expertise with Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript or Python) for automatingmodern SPAs — Angular and React.
- Strong API testing background — REST, JSON schema validation, authentication flows, and tools such as REST Assured, Pytest/requests, or Postman/Newman.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and hands-on experience testing Spring Boot and Python (FastAPI/Flask) services.
- Working knowledge of MongoDB — queries, aggregations, and validating data as it moves through a pipeline.
- Experience building and owning CI/CD test pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI) and running suites in Docker/Kubernetes environments.
- Strong debugging instincts — able to triage a failure to code, data, environment, or test, and drive it to closure.
- Experience in SaaS or product-based companies with frequent release cycles.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management — comfortable being the voice of quality in release decisions.
Nice to Have
- Experience testing AI/ML products — validating extraction accuracy, model output quality, or LLM evaluation harnesses.
- Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, k6, Locust) and observability platforms.
- Exposure to contract testing (Pact) or service virtualisation for microservices.
- Experience with AI-assisted development and testing tools like Claude Code.

Skills Required
- 7-10 years of experience in QA and test automation
