Senior Protocol Engineer

Full time - Paris, London, or full remote from Western EU

Responsibilities

As our Senior Protocol Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Doing technical due diligence on new protocols being evaluated for Kiln’s roadmap

• Running protocols in testnet on Kiln servers before handing them over to the Kiln infa team for mainnet / ongoing production

• Being a technical expert on relevant protocols to help answer internal and external questions on their operations. Writing educational content

• Liaising with protocol foundation teams 

• Representing Kiln at ecosystem events

Stack:

• Infrastructure: AWS/GCP + baremetal, Kubernetes, Terraform/Terragrunt, Prometheus/Thanos, Helm, Hashicorp Vault, FluxCD

• Software: Golang, Typescript, PostgreSQL

• Smart-Contract: Solidity, Foundry, OpenZeppelin

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in the crypto industry. Demonstrated passion for the industry and following recent developments. You are addicted to crypto twitter :) 

• 3+ years DevOps experience with a very strong focus on Kubernetes.

• You have run validator nodes (and not only blockchain nodes) yourself either professionally or as a hobbyist. 

• Analytical mind and rigorous communication. You enjoy and are good at synthesising complex information and conveying your learnings both in oral and written format. 

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup/scaleup environment

• Team spirit: Discuss, but do not try to impose. 

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members

• Curiosity and ability to dig into a topic and take ownership to follow through.
