As a Senior Project Manager, you will be a vital part of the Hillsboro Individualized Therapies (HIT) Project Management team within the Roche/Genentech Pharma Technical Cell and Gene Therapy organization (PTC). This growing organization works across internal teams, external partners, and contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) to establish and implement innovative cell and gene therapy capabilities. Working in a highly matrixed and cross-functional environment, you will collaborate closely with technical development, manufacturing, quality, and business stakeholders to drive successful project execution. The OpportunityIn this role, you will provide comprehensive organizational support, leadership, and project management expertise to complex operational projects—including new products/modalities, technology transfers, product lifecycle changes, and new operational capabilities. Operating in a highly matrixed and cross-functional environment, you will collaborate closely with technical development, manufacturing, quality, and business stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation and alignment with strategic priorities. Key responsibilities include:
Lead, coordinate, and facilitate cross-functional project teams and stakeholders—including internal teams, external partners, and contract manufacturing organizations—to achieve alignment on goals and deliverables
Define project objectives, requirements, and assumptions; develop comprehensive project charters and integrated project plans aligned with organizational strategy
Design agendas, facilitate effective project meetings/workshops, and write or review comprehensive meeting minutes
Manage scope, schedule, and budget to fulfill project objectives while ensuring alignment with the overall PTC business model and strategic priorities
Conduct risk management planning, identification, analysis, and monitoring; formulate mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize project exposure
Manage project communications, documentation, and information systems to ensure timely, appropriate stakeholder updates
Track and report project budgets and financial forecasts; manage 3rd party vendor resources as needed to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of project management experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or related life sciences industry
Proven ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed, cross-functional environment, with exceptional skills in stakeholder management, collaboration, and influencing across internal and external partners
Strong command of project management tools and business systems, including MS Project or similar applications (Monday.com, Airtable, Trello, etc), data visualization tools (Tableau, Spotfire), and g-suite/Microsoft applications
Exceptional communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to lead effective meetings, manage conflict and change, and communicate clearly with diverse audiences across technical and business domains
Proactive, adaptable professional with excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and proven ability to deliver complex, high-risk projects on time and within budget
Prior experience in the cell and/or gene therapy industry will be strongly prioritized for selection
Proven experience supporting technical development and transfer activities, with a specific focus on cell and gene therapy
Demonstrated experience working directly with external collaborators and contract manufacturing (CMO) partners
Proficient in project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile)
Strong financial acumen and ability to estimate cost, forecast budgets, and maintain detailed cost reports
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

The expected salary range for this position based in Oregon is $97,200 - $180,600. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
