Why we need you
We need a Senior Project Manager to serve as the strategic engine of the team, driving complex milestones while bridging the gap between our R&D, Social Implementation, and Ecosystem working groups. Your ability to align goals with R&D institutes and foundation governance will be vital in ensuring that high-level research translates into actionable engineering priorities.
By leveraging your technical depth in Machine Learning and GPU infrastructure, you will proactively mitigate risks and manage critical resources to move our vision from research to real-world application.
What you will be doing
- Manage the overall project schedule, tracking milestones and dependencies across all sub-teams
- Coordinate with R&D institute project counterparts to align deliverable timelines and integration windows
- Facilitate cross-working-group communication for ensuring R&D outcomes flow into the Dev Team's integration backlog and social implementation requirements are reflected in engineering priorities
- Proactively surface blockers such as GPU procurement delays, R&D schedule slips, or partner staffing gaps for risk identification and mitigation
- Budget and resource tracking by monitor GPU allocation utilization, cloud spend per account, and headcount against plan
- Organize and run sprint planning, retrospectives, and stage gate review preparation
- Maintain project documentation, including status reports, decision logs, RACI matrices, and dependency maps
- Coordinate with the project foundation governance on reporting, compliance milestones, and external communications
- Ensure project documentation is complete and audit-ready (plans, RAID, sign-offs, key decisions)
You
- 6–8+ years experience in IT/software project management
- Proven track record of leading complex, multi-team software and Machine Learning projects from inception to delivery
- Advanced Agile/Scrum Mastery. Extensive experience managing sprint-based delivery cycles, specifically focusing on resolving intricate cross-team dependencies.
- Technical Depth in Cloud & ML. Sufficient technical literacy to oversee GPU provisioning, training pipelines, and inference architecture
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks early within R&D-heavy programs where timelines and technical hurdles are often fluid.
- High-level expertise in Jira, Confluence, and Notion for rigorous project tracking, comprehensive documentation, and executive reporting.
- Expert-level fluency in English. Must be capable of navigating high-level communications between R&D institutes, external partners, and foundation governance bodies.
- Proficiency in Japanese is preferred but not required
