Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans for thermal management programs, including deliverables, milestones, owners, dependencies, and due dates.
- Track and manage all project deliverables across multiple active programs to ensure timely execution and accountability.
- Coordinate cross-functional and cross-organizational teams to support execution of project objectives and commitments.
- Lead recurring project meetings and maintain action item lists, meeting notes, decision logs, and project trackers.
- Follow up with project owners to confirm progress, resolve open items, and drive closure of overdue tasks.
- Monitor project schedules and identify risks, delays, bottlenecks, and resource conflicts, escalating issues as needed.
- Maintain accurate and current project status across all assigned programs, including development, testing, qualification, customer deliverables, and internal milestones.
- Prepare and communicate clear project status updates to leadership and team members, including key issues, risks, and required decisions.
- Coordinate internal reviews, milestone check-ins, sample and prototype timing, test activity timing, and customer commitment tracking as required.
- Support alignment across engineering, operations, supply chain, commercial, and leadership teams to keep projects moving according to plan.
- Assist with budget tracking, forecasting, and resource planning for assigned projects.
- Ensure project documentation is complete, organized, and maintained in accordance with company requirements.
- Support execution discipline across programs so teams remain focused on commitments, timelines, and deliverables.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, materials, science, operations, or related field required
- At least 5 years of experience in project management, program coordination, operations support, or technical project support with some exposure to materials and/or process development a plus
- Experience managing multiple cross-functional projects in a manufacturing, engineering, or technology environment preferred
- PMP or CAPM certification preferred
- Project management portfolio examples preferred

- Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, tracking, follow-up, and issue resolution
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time with strong attention to detail
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and driving accountability across organizations
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain clear, accurate project records
- Ability to identify risks, schedule conflicts, and execution gaps early and drive timely resolution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to prepare concise status updates for leadership
- Ability to lead project review meetings and keep teams focused on actions and deadlines
- Proficiency with project tracking and planning tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Jira, Smartsheet, or similar systems
- Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning processes
- Ability to work effectively with engineering, operations, commercial, and leadership teams
- Ability to maintain discipline around schedules, deliverables, and documentation
- In-depth knowledge of, or willingness to learn, relevant industry standards and regulations as applicable
Working Conditions
- Office, manufacturing floor, and testing lab environment
- Potential for working at a computer for >80% of the day
- Occasional travel may be required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to navigate around various environments, such as offices, manufacturing facilities, and customer sites
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, often at a desk or workstation while using a computer
- Capable of performing repetitive tasks, such as typing, using a mouse, and navigating software applications
- Ability to lift and carry equipment or materials, up to 50 pounds
- Strong eyesight to read technical drawings, specifications, and reports, as well as to inspect designs and equipment
- Ability to hear and understand discussions in meetings and when collaborating with team members or stakeholders
- Capability to perform detailed work, such as drawing or adjusting small components within mechanical systems
- Ability to focus on complex tasks for extended periods, particularly when analyzing data or developing designs
- Strong cognitive skills to troubleshoot issues and develop effective solutions on the spot
Safety Requirements
All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corporate EHS standards.
PPE may be required when entering specific manufacturing areas for collaborative efforts.
