Senior Project Manager

As a Senior Project Manager at Povio, you’ll play a key role in making sure software development projects run smoothly. You’ll work closely with our clients and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business goals.

Born at Y Combinator - the legendary startup accelerator that launched Airbnb, Stripe, and Dropbox - Povio has grown from a small team into an international agency. We help startups and established companies design, build, and scale digital products that make an impact.

• Plan and manage project timelines, budgets, scope, and resources.
• Define project requirements in collaboration with clients and translate them into clear, actionable plans.
• Oversee day-to-day execution, making sure everyone on the team knows what’s next and why.
• Ensure goals, deliverables, and deadlines are clearly set and met.
• Coordinate with designers, developers, QA engineers, and external partners.
• Keep your team motivated and resolve conflicts when they arise.
• Communicate regularly and transparently with clients, sharing updates, gathering feedback, and managing expectations.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients. You will help shape product direction, clarify priorities, and make informed technical decisions.
• Spot opportunities for additional value or follow-on work, and collaborate with the team to upsell new features or services.
• Identify risks, analyze issues, and find practical solutions.
• Stay hands-on with documentation and reporting throughout the project.
• Contribute to team-wide improvements and share what works across projects.

• 6+ years of experience leading client-facing digital products or software development projects. 
• A technical background, with a deep understanding of how digital products are built. 
• The ability to speak both the language of developers and the business needs of clients. 
• Experience in working across multiple projects at once, ideally in a fast-paced or agency environment.
• A deep understanding of Agile workflows (Scrum) and how to apply them in practice.
• Strong communication skills, enabling you to lead meetings, explain decisions, and keep everyone aligned.
• Confidence in managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and resources.
• A proactive mindset, with the ability to spot problems early and take action without being asked.
• The ability to motivate your team and maintain momentum, even when things get tricky.
• A passion for technology and a desire to stay up-to-date with industry trends.

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Mentored junior project managers. 
• Defined internal processes.
• A background in a technical role (e.g., developer, systems administrator, systems engineer) or a strong understanding of developer/engineering processes.
• Experience working on the client side and understanding the perspective of collaborating with vendors.
